Fantastic, really works!
Fabulous! I didn’t write an immediate review because I wanted to wait the month to see if it worked. Then I forgot! But I have just recommended it to my daughter who is being plagued by squirrels in her garden. I have ordered two for her. It will be interesting to see whether they work as well with squirrels. As described, in our garden the cat scarers did not achieve the complete removal of all cats in the first month. Suddenly the huge numbers of cats in our garden became completely conspicuous by their absence! We bought our two units in July 2017 and after the initial period there has only been one cat seen in our garden and this was when we forgot to replace the batteries!!! No more of the copious amounts of cat poo! No more dead birds in my garden! No more fighting cats and accompanying vocals under my window! Great! Really works for me. This animal lover had become a cat hater. Now I can love them again, from a distance. As described previously I bought these for my daughter who is inundated with squirrels. Sad to say it did not work as well for her as it did for us. The cats couldn’t hack it and we have remained a cat free zone. The squirrels sadly are not too keen, but the spoils of bird food are so tempting that they have been able to ignore most of the sound emitted from the device. So in summary, an amazing cat deterrent but not so good with squirrels. I suppose the cats still have to catch the birds, for the squirrels, the bird food is there for the taking. They are clever enough to realise that.

First day, epic fail !! Few weeks in, maybe better results
So here's why I "don't like it" (thats what the two star rating says, not me personally) just one day after excitedly setting it up. A perfectly piled pile of poo appeared in my flower bed overnight. I spent months creating a tidy space in the back garden of my new home. As soon as the flower beds were created, an invisible intruder starting making a nightly deposit which I faithfully picked up and disposed every morning. Then I researched cat repellents and after several failed sprays and other natural options I finally found success. I cluttered up the beds with cut branches of holly and rose stalks. In between this I laid out a few brooms, some long twigs and a solitary prickly potted plant. While the arrangement happily didn't suit the intruder, the flower beds looked like a garbage disposal site. Not quite the look I was going for. But the deposits were rare. Yesterday I was excited to set up the Pestbye equipment and it appeared to be sending the signals at the correct angles. I left one bed full of the cuttings and clutter and cleared the other beds, making them nice and beautiful. Just to help the Pestbye, I also sprayed some "Doff Cat and dog" repellant spay on the beds. Surely that would be enough. NO, it wasn't :-(( This morning the cluttered bed was clear, but there it was, on the clear bed, in the morning, proud and piled high. "Its" shape was one of an "unhurried" effort. Today the cuttings and clutter have gone back on the bed. I will leave the Pestbye there for a month as instructed, but if there are no further deposits, I'm not sure if I can give credit to Pestbye , or to my unsightly prickly collection. UPDATE(19/08/16) :I changed the angle and positioning of the two units and added more holly cuttings. No cat poo in sight :-) However the next day the familiar stink rose from the other side of the garden in another bed :-( I filled it up with holly cuttings and no Pestbye yet and no cat poo there either. UPDATE : 06/12/16: Huge poo in direct sight of Pestbye unit, where holly cuttings blew away in recent bad weather. Deeply dejected :-( UPDATE : 10/09/16. I figured the sound must irritate the culprits, but maybe the cat was eluding the motion sensor. So I "planted" 2 sets (4 units) in plant pots at opposite ends of the garden, with the plant leaves activating the device when the breeze moved the leaves in the plant pot. I also cleared away the rakes and spades and sticks from the beds (not the holly cuttings just yet) to see what would happen. 2 days -no "deposits"! I turn off the units in the morning, and on at dusk. Lets see how long the batteries last. Fingers crossed! Rating updated to 3 stars today UPDATE: 27/09/2016: Not a deposit in sight!! I think we have a result..So the key is the outwit the cat, by keeping the unit sporadically active using the swaying motion of leaves of a potted plant or shrub-in 4 different locations. Yes it will mean more battery usage, but with nothing horrible and smelly in sight I think its worth it! ( I saw an almost lynx size wild cat go around my garden and across the road one early morning last week! Wonder if this was my worthy adversary!) rating updated to 4 UPDATE: 26/11/16. Its cold, so I hardly go out, but when I do I don't seem to smell the cat deposits like before. This afternoon I peeked out and look who I saw sunning himself (picture of offender..(finally!) enclosed) Grrr..This after I have 4 units installed. One unit visible flush against the fence. Should I check the beds ..or keep calm till spring..hmm..

Very impressed how effective it is
Although I love cats and I'm happy for other peoples cats to come into my garden, things changed recently when my neighbours cat decided my lawn was the perfect place for it's morning toilet visit, it is very regular and I'm guaranteed a deposit every morning. I've tried putting different cat repellent pellets and powders down with varying success, but soon as it rains it needs to be redone again so the cost in time and money mounts up. I gave these sonic cat repellents a try not expecting too much of them but I've been very impressed. Soon as I set them up the result was instant, the toilet behaviour stopped immediately and has continued to be 100% effective, I've seen cats walk across the lawn and trigger the sonic sound, their ears go back, tail flicks in irritation and they walk quickly away to avoid it. My tips are, take the time to make sure you install them where the sensor has clear field of view to the area you want covered, and is the right height and angle to the ground, think of it as shining a beam of light from a torch so the angle is not pointing up or down but parallel to the ground. Also make sure you use good quality powerful batteries like Duracell. I recommend spending the extra money on these sonic cat repellents rather than powders or pellets as these will cost you more in the long run and nowhere near as effective.

Stops squirrels and birds from coming in the garden. But DOES NOT WORK ON CATS!
I bought these to deter cats from constantly fouling on my lawn. It happens on my front lawn and also the lawn at the side of the property. Since installing 2 of these 14 days ago I've noticed that squirrels and birds are no longer playing in the area that the sonic repellant effects. The cats however, couldn't care less, and have fouled right in front of each sensor on a daily basis. I clear this up every single day and also lay down orange and citrus peel to help deter but with no luck. They keep coming and going. We have numerous feral cats where I live and even though it's only 2 specific cats that keep fouling each part of the garden, I've seen numerous other cats happily strolling past the sensors without a care in the world. I have of course checked the sensors are working on numerous occasions. They both trigger instantly and from a wide angle. I can pick up on some of the audible clicks. So they are both working as they should. The simple fact is that they DO NOT WORK ON CATS. I'll be sending mine back for a refund and using money to get a pir triggered water squirting device as this seems to be the only guaranteed option.

Awaiting results
We live in a neighbourhood with many cats. We do not own a cat. Most of the neighbourhood cats like to use our vegetable garden as a litter tray, particularly at this time of year when few plants have established. We try everything, stakes at angles, cat repellent powder and several cat scarers. Our last one lasted 2x years which was reasonable as although they are "weatherproof" IP44 isn't enough to survive many winters. We've had solar ones but the solar panel always dies. Bought these as a pair to try to cover all entries. They state it can take a few weeks to be fully effective as cats poop in a routine. Initially the cats pooed again but they now appear put off. They disturb the earth but no droppings currently. Using in conjunction with repellent powder. Longevity will be the question. So far I'm reasonably happy.

Brilliant! No more cats!
I was sceptical ordering these,as I had read review of similar products that people said did not work, but as you could get a refund after a month if they didn't work I thought I had nothing to lose. I live on an estate that has lots of cats, who seemed to like using my garden as a toilet! I was fed up having to clear it up before cutting the lawns. Well I have to say that as soon as I put them in the garden - one front and one back - there has not been any cat's mess left at all. They make a very faint ticking sound when you walk past them, and the light glows faintly in the day, more visible in the dark,so you know they are still working. I have not even seen cats in or around my garden since. Waiting to see now how long the batteries last, but in my mind they are well worth the money even if the batteries need replacing frequently.

Less poop already! Top tip…..
So I’m truly torn on how to review this product, you could say I’m on the fence…. ( get the joke!… if you don’t see the picks) On one hand the cat poop has stopped but on the other hand we have had some cats still in the garden and they appear to be having a “chat” when we came home the other day. I’m not sure if this is a strategical talk on how to disarm the devices or just a casual chat amongst feline friends , either way I’m on alert! They were by the garden ( on the fence ) but not in the garden so it must be working…right…. After one cat legged it I did a “test” to see if the other cat reacted at all to the device…. It didn’t. However the poop has still gone and I’m happy about that. What I can say is that this product is slightly different to the neighbours ones I have seen and heard. This one does a slight ticking noice and what I can assume is going up and down the ultrasonic wave lengths which unsettles the cat. Upon reading the product info this one is different to most as it only goes off when it detects body heat. Most go off with movement be it a living creature or a bush moving in the wind. This then shows the cat that it is their presence which is making it go off, thus deterring it from being near the machine. It also saves on the batteries Top tip is to move it about a bit so the cats don’t know where it is all the time. It works as we have a lot less poop now in the garden , we were having to clear up everyday , now it is every week or two. Slow but surly it’s stopping the habit from the next door neighbours new cats. Would recommend
