another great story
I have enjoyed every Freida McFadden book I have read so far. Her stories are intriguing and well written. You get a feel for the different characters and their perspectives on what is happening. And she always keeps you guessing till the end when all of the pieces fall into place.

Easy read, short chapters. But wanted more
I absolutely loved "The Locked Door" by Frieda McFadden! This book kept me hooked from start to finish. While some readers have criticized it for being repetitive or lacking in character development for Nora, I completely disagree. Every detail, no matter how small, plays a crucial role in the narrative. Even something as so small, like how Nora likes to drink her coffee provides a deeper understanding of her character. These small details give insight into her personality and hint at her similarities with her father, a notorious serial killer.I found Nora to be a fascinating character. Yes, she was cold and distant, and she didn't show a lot of emotions, but this portrayal was intentional and effective. It highlighted her potential psychopathic traits while distinguishing her from her father. The questioning around whether she is like her father or not added a thrilling layer to the story. The alternating timelines between the present and the past were nice to read , offering a view of Nora's character and her relationship with her father before his capture. However, I do wish there was more exploration of Nora's childhood. There were some gaps that left me wanting more about her early years. My one thing was that it felt like it ended too abruptly. Yes, we all want a happy ending, but we are reading about possible suspects and everything that has happened so far and BAM. We get our answer so quickly. Too quickly. That whole scene doesn’t last long and left me wanting more.Overall, this book is an easy read with short chapters that make it hard to put down. If you're looking for an engaging and enjoyable read with a plot twist at the end, I highly recommend "The Locked Door."

A Excellent Read
I enjoyed reading this book. I haven't read a"whodunit" in a long time, or "murder mystery"? I would've never guessed who the killer was. It kind of reminded me of Hanniba! Lecter without the eating. The author did a good job keeping the mystery going. I'm going to add her t my list of favorite authors.

The Locked Door Is Filled With Action
The action does move the plot forward but without the intensity of psychological thrillers. This book is a murder mystery and the flashbacks to Nora's childhood break the story up. They are important because of what they reveal about her childhood but they appear disjointed, no pun intended, and are not seamless. Perhaps I enjoy the psychological thrillers more. This is an interesting book but not as gripping as some of the others. No spoilers but as I have said before, Freida McFadden knows how to write great endings. Enjoy!

A quick, compelling read
The Locked Door is a lightening fast read. The premise hooked me from the start, and the twists and turns keep up the intrigue until the end.Ok. The writing is a little basic. It is not trying to be insightful or literary. It is just about the mystery, which is very well constructed.

Good read, whiny voice (audible version)
Freida spins a wonderful twisting tale (as usual) that keeps the reader guessing who the killer(s) are.I’ve truly enjoyed the 6 books of hers I have read thus far!
