Excellent Device for Less Phone Fixation
Fantastic for someone looking to keep access to essential apps (banking, work apps, etc) but avoiding clutter and phone overuse. I use verizon which it said would not work but figured I would try it out and it works perfectly fine. Very sturdy as I work in a busy environment and have dropped it a few times. Excellent battery life and very simple to learn the functions of, been having a lot of fun learning how to type quickly with T9, but there are options for touchscreen keyboards. For the price, it can't be beat and I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away from typical smartphones but needing the functionality of one.

please please please DO NOT buy this POS phone
Bought to downgrade from a smartphone to a dumbphone (social media detoxing) and had for 3 months before it just stopped working; randomly froze on the home screen, went black, then wouldn't turn on no matter what I did, completely out of nowhere on a full charge. Honestly was probably the best case scenario with this POS phone because it gets dangerously hot when in normal use (had to toss the case I bought for it because I literally BURNED MY HAND ON THE BACK taking it off when it overheated), ridiculously bulky and heavy with no hole to tie charms through, T9 keyboard is nearly unusable & keys double & triple press constantly with no way to fix, camera is like 2 pixels, takes up to 5 minutes to load anything with all the bloatware, won't work with Visible or rideshare/delivery driver apps, battery will last maybe an hour on a full charge, screen is literally too small for the display of most apps (can mostly be fixed, just have to screw around with the developer settings before you can even use it), and good luck setting the side button to do anything as it also double presses & will render whatever function you give it useless.

Built To Take It
I've own a few alleged "rugged" flip phones and this one outshines them all. From the moment you unbox it, you'll be struck by its heft. I've read review about people "downgrading" from smart phones so as to use their phones less with this product. I am just the opposite and just about anything you can do on a smart phone you can do on this phone, as well. The internet is a breeze on this phone, but of course the screen is smaller. I've also had it slide completely off a forklift and it didn't suffer even a scratch when it hit the cement. It comes with a lot of bells and whistles and is water-proof. I also keep it in low power mode (which doesn't affect performance) and it will last a day or more (depending on usage). It is also equipped with wifi and thus when using THAT, you aren't using your own data or minutes . A great little workhorse that has excellent sound and extensively VERY fast internet speed. I love this phone.

A great step away from smartphone addiction — not perfect, but absolutely worth it
In 2023, I made the decision to get rid of my smartphone. I sold my latest-model Samsung, and with the money, bought a nikon camera and this flip phone. After a lot of research, I landed on the CAT S22. It’s not a true “dumb phone,” but it’s dumb enough — just enough to break the cycle of doomscrolling and mindless app use, while still giving me the basic functionality I need. Why I chose this phone — and why I’m glad I did: I needed something that could still run a few essential apps — Google Maps, mobile banking, audiobooks, even the daycare pickup app for my nephew. The CAT S22 can download most apps (though some don’t work well on the small screen), and that balance has been perfect for me. What I love: -My brain is quieter. Truly. Moving to this simpler phone has made a noticeable difference in my mental clarity and overall peace. No more being sucked into social media. No more wasted hours scrolling. -It does what I need. I can text (I use a different keyboard with swype + voice input), call, listen to audiobooks, check maps, and run a few key apps. -Great speakers. Calls are clear, and I can play music or audiobooks and hear them just fine. -Good battery life. A full charge lasts a day or two, and I love that the battery is removable — I brought a spare on a camping trip and just swapped it out. -Strong service. I get the same level of signal and reception as my husband’s high-end smartphone. -The flip phone vibe is fun. Honestly, people think I’m some kind of secret agent when I snap it shut. That alone adds a little joy to the day. Downsides — and why I still stick with it: -Durability is iffy. I’ve gone through three of these phones. Thankfully, I bought the insurance plan, and each time the hinge broke (from dropping it), they replaced it. The flip top just isn’t as sturdy as I hoped, so this phone is not for the super clumsy (guilty). -The camera is awful. Potato quality. Don’t plan on using this for pictures. I use a separate camera for that now and I’m much happier with the results. -Small screen = limited app functionality. Some apps just won’t run or display properly — which is actually kind of the point. I didn’t want something addictive, just something functional. -No headphone jack. I use Bluetooth when needed, but it’s worth noting for anyone who still relies on wired headphones. Bottom line: If you're looking to simplify your digital life, stay off social media, and break free from the smartphone trap — without giving up all modern function — the CAT S22 is a great in-between. It’s not perfect, but it’s exactly what I needed to reset my tech habits, stay connected, and live a little more intentionally.

I AM IN LOVE W THIS PHONEAHHHHHHHHHH
I use this phone for my most convenient things and this is the best phone I have ever had. I am not addicted to my phone and it never breaks! It is always there when I need it for important things! You can download some apps, but not too much, so you basically have a limit! I have been using this for roughly 2 years and I love it. The camera quality is average, and the battery life is really good. It also charges fast! The texting however, you do have to download kika keyboard for the keyboard to actually be used. Another thing I would like to add is that this is an android, so it isn't completely off grid flip phone. It is still connected to google in ways. The sound quality is average too, and yes you can have headphones in it with Spotify or whatever. I personally don't use Spotify, so that's not a problem for me. This is the best money I've spent and I do not regret buying this.

Issues with SIM card being read
Worked well for about 9-10 months and then it stopped detecting the SIM card. I changed the card but the phone still will not recognize it. Says I need to insert a SIM card even though one is in. Rest of phone works great.

The phone is of good quality quality. Perfect for people who want to detox from the modern phones but still want to have the ability to install any app. (Be mindful some sim cards don't work on it)

Not sure why people are saying this phone only works in US? Was worried by a few reviews saying their UK/Australian/etc. network wasn’t compatible with this phone, but took the risk anyway. Received in a couple weeks and was able to put Irish SIM card (3) in no bother! Phone works perfect. Great buy

Great phone second only to the alt mive style folder 2. Does almost everything I need the only thing it's missing is NFC and long battery life but all you have to do is carry your cards and bring a portable charger. Recommend looking up guides for customisation to make this thing your treasure.

Didn't work with any sims. I tried Optus and Telstra, both failed to be detected. Don't buy if in Australia.

Warning if buying in the UK, this will not work on UK network, as it's locked to US. It even came with a US mains USB charger. T-Mobile is long dead in the UK, did not work with Vodafone or EE. The clue was in the description: "Versatile connectivity: Supports 3G and 4G LTE networks, so you can stay connected anywhere, compatible with T-Mobile, AT&T, but not for Verizon. This phone is unlocked but does not support locked SIM cards such as " Will be sending back, very disappointing this is sold in the UK.
