Patriot Pails, 5 Gallon Buckets with Matching Gamma Seal Lids (3 Pack)

These are nice buckets; the lids seem to fit well, but if you store your food in mylar bags in the buckets, it's not as important that the lid is airtight. The seals can be difficult to get on the buckets, but if you turn it upside down and stomp, it should snap right on. These were more expensive than what you might find at your local home improvement store, but they've been harder to find and I liked the colors of these buckets.

It is very secure. We had an issue with the raccoons eating the pigs feed (and it is not cheap), now the raccoons still come, but can't get into the feed. Sense it it's dry feed, I cannot attest to how leak proof it is, but I would presume it is because no little buggies have been found in the feed. No cracks, no spaces for buggies to get in, assumption..... nowhere for anything to leak out if liquids were stored.

These buckets are the perfect size and the screw on lid makes for a very secure storage. They are awesome!! More than loving the buckets and helping me be organized, I want to give 5 STARS for amazing Customer Service. I used to own a small business and know what it is like to do anything to make up for a lost item. This was handled so professionally without any question to whether they were really lost. They work well for food products.

These buckets and lids were as expected. The only very small complaint would be that the label on the inside of the lid left sticky residue that took a bit of effort to remove. But really not that big of a deal. Buckets and lids seem to be very sturdy and easy to use. Would purchase again.

Buckets arrived promptly. - The lids are tough to snap into place! One reviewer recommends putting bucket upside-down and stamping on it! I’m 200 lbs and they finally went on...I think. I say “think” because the white bucket came assembled and it is 3/8 of an inch taller than the two I assembled. Hum? I stomped so hard I was worried about crumpling the bucket. Then I noticed the number “22” on the side of the white bucket. The red and blue buckets have the number “20” (Look closely at the photo). I am not sure the snap-on lids are fully snapped in but the threaded lids work well and the buckets are sealed...I think. I am putting some grain and dehumidifier tabs in for a and will check the color of the desiccant and update this eval. - FYI: After I ordered these, I noticed the blurb about “not recommended for long term storage.” I am planning on putting grain in Mylar bags with desiccant and antioxidant packages in the buckets. In general I agree with the inadvisability of plastic containers for long term food storage. I have had rodents chew right through a thick plastic outdoor gardening bin to get at birdseed! However, if the pails are stored in a larger mouse and rat-proof container or building, they should be fine.

This is a great product. I love them I can keep sugar in them and no bugs and no clumping. I only wish they were cheaper so I could afford to buy more. Till then I’ll save up to buy more.
