good quality mouthguard
These do their job. I was a little surprised at how small they are. I actually thought about returning them. However, if you read the instructions carefully you will note that these and other similar mouthguards are not designed to go all the way back to your last molar. They are supposed to just go to your first molar. The process of making them fit was easy. I microwaved them in some water, then put them in my mouth and bit down. They did shrink just a tiny bit when they hardened, so they push my teeth in a little. You wouldn't notice if you are just using this for sports, but I imagine that if I used this at night it might have an effect on my bite. They are a little bulky, but not more so than competing products. I'm actually not sure why they can't make these slimmer. Must be some constraints I'm not aware of. The taste...it's ok. Very persistent. It continues to smell and taste of a light lemon with hints of some kind of tea after many uses. It's not delicious, but I suppose it's far superior to the taste of wax or rubber or old spit. Overall I'm satisfied with this mouth guard. It's good quality.

Adult | 11+ is VERY VERY small!
My son says this is very comfortable, but has only used it for 1 minute so we will find out when the season starts. I wanted to get on here to share our experience. We had to redo the process once as we had way too much material in front of the front teeth. The mouthguard would fall out immediately. On our second try, I made sure to push up against the front teeth harder than before, before having him bite down. This helped a great deal. We ordered an adult after reading the reviews that the youth was too small. Either we got a repackaged and returned one or the adults are extremely small as well. My son is 8 with a mouth still full of 12 baby teeth. This barely fit him. The back comes to the middle of his only adult molars. I am female with a small mouth that the dentist has to use the small fluoride trays on and this does not fit my mouth, it is too small!!! We are heading to Dick’s today to see if they have both the youth and the adult in stock so I can see which one we actually got. Overall product looks like it will do what it is supposed to, but it is very small so order accordingly. Because it seems to fit my son, I am giving it 5 stars, as that is why we bought it. If it turns out to have been repackaged, I will reduce my review to one star.

Solid product
I ordered this product for roller derby and it’s been working great so far. It was easy to mold; I messed up a couple of times so I had to reheat it a couple of times. It remolded just fine. I’ve taken quite a few hits and have fallen in derby. It stays in and all my teeth are still in tact. The only down side is that it feels big. I do have a smaller mouth but there was only one size to pick from. Otherwise, I like it!

Great mouthguard
I highly recommend this mouth guard, I purchased this for my son to wear during sports to protect his teeth following orthodontic treatment and the black part in the front adds a lot more protection. No issues molding and the material forms hard but comfortable and secure.

Not worth the price
Just this product because I wanted it until I see the dentist in a couple of months to get a mouthguard. Been grinding my teeth and wanted to get a cheap mouthguard until I had some dental work done and then get a custom mouthguard done by the dentist first of all, I went to put it in my mouth. It was so small that it look like it was a child’s mouthguard, yet it said adult on the package, secondly, I tried a couple of times even stretching it out with my hands, and when I could get it in my mouth and it would not stay there it was just fall out. There was no friction to hold it whatsoever. My last chance I had with it I actually put it in a microwave with some water boil the water got it really hot and pliable. I was able to make it larger by doing that Without stretching it too much put it in my mouth and now it was just falling out. It was cool by the time I took it out of my mouth so it was basically useless. I threw it in the trashcan and I got a feeling that’s what most people are going to do with it total garbage I could’ve returned it, but after putting it in my mouth, I decided I wasn’t going to go through all that not for the 13 $14. I paid for it to something else is my best recommendation.

Too tight, after fitting twice
I bought this for adult league hockey, to help protect my teeth from banging against each other, and to help a little with concussions. I am an average sized adult male. I followed the instructions carefully. I fitted this mouth guard once, and found that it squeezes my upper teeth together, putting uncomfortable pressure inward. I followed the instructions to repeat the process if needed, but it remained too tight. In addition, it is quite thick on the outside, it is pretty uncomfortable to wear. This may help protect my teeth from impact, I don't need that kind of protect, given that I play hockey with a full cage face protector. So, not a great choice for my needs.

Perfect Fit and Protection - Shock Doctor Gel Max Mouthguard
As someone who plays multiple sports, I've always known the importance of keeping my teeth safe during games, especially with hockey, lacrosse, and wrestling. The Shock Doctor Gel Max Mouthguard is my go-to for all my sports, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Here’s why I’m giving it a 5-star rating: 1. Superior Protection: The Gel Max Mouthguard provides top-tier protection without being bulky. I’ve used several mouthguards in the past, but this one is by far the best when it comes to keeping my teeth safe during high-contact sports like hockey and lacrosse. It absorbs impacts well, giving me confidence during every hit and tackle. 2. Comfortable Fit: One of the standout features of this mouthguard is the customizable fit. The boil-and-bite process is quick and easy, and once it’s molded to my teeth, it feels secure and comfortable. I can wear it for long periods without irritation, which is crucial when I’m on the field or rink for extended games or practices. 3. Breathability and Speech: The Shock Doctor Gel Max Mouthguard doesn’t obstruct my breathing or make it difficult to talk. This is a huge plus when you need to communicate with teammates during the game. It has enough space around the mouth to keep airflow natural, and I don’t feel suffocated like I have with other brands. 4. Durable Design: I’ve put this mouthguard through its paces during rough games, and it has held up beautifully. It’s made with high-quality materials that feel sturdy and durable, with no signs of wear even after multiple uses. The impact-resistant exterior keeps it intact, and the gel liner offers excellent shock absorption. 5. Multi-Sport Use: I love how versatile this mouthguard is—it’s great for a wide range of sports, from hockey and lacrosse to wrestling and baseball. Whether I’m taking hits on the field or engaging in physical battles on the rink, it gives me peace of mind knowing that my teeth and jaw are protected. 6. Easy to Clean: Another positive aspect is how easy it is to clean. After a game or practice, I simply rinse it under warm water, and it’s good to go for the next session. It doesn’t retain any bad smells, which is a plus when using it consistently. 7. Affordable Protection: Considering the level of protection and comfort this mouthguard provides, the price is very reasonable. It’s a small investment for protecting your teeth and jaw during sports, and it's well worth it for the peace of mind it offers. Final Thoughts: If you play contact sports or just want to ensure the safety of your teeth during intense activities, the Shock Doctor Gel Max Mouthguard is a must-have. It’s comfortable, offers great protection, and works well in multiple sports. I feel confident using it every time I step onto the field, rink, or mat. 🌟 Highly recommended! Effective, Long Lasting, and Low Cost
I use these for my teeth grinding. It is bulky, but to me it is comfortable and I like it I have had many of these - They are affordable and last a solid two months. Easily shapes to your mouth, but the trick is getting water hot enough. I put water in a microwave safe coffee cup in the microwave for 4 minutes and it was boiling when I took it out. I popped this in for about 60 seconds and it was ready to be fitted. If the mouthguard starts to get smaller, almost as if it is curling up, it means it is ready to be removed from the water and mold to your mouth. Either blow it off or quickly run it under cold water briefly to cool it down, but it will be and should be quite hot when you put it in your mouth for molding. Then press all around the outside and inside of it while it is in your mouth. Do this while butting down and forming the guard to your teeth with your hands and your bite. This is bulky, but it is very comfortable and easy to breathe out your mouth. I’ve never broken crown while wearing these so I will say they sure do work and are sturdy and long lasting.
