SafetapConnector Rev 4 - The one and ONLY

This is a useful device that helps protect against reverse polarity, over/under voltage, and short circuits. No major issues other than it was pretty difficult to solder the wires due to the extremely small holes. I’m updating my rating because the inventor himself reached out to me after my review, so A+++ for customer support. Highly recommended to protect your P/Dtap accessories.

These SafeTaps are awesome and a must for cameras with sensitive 12G SDI. Emery, the SafeTap owner is super helpful. If you’re a newbie to soldering like myself, I’d buy an extra one. I screwed up the first one then figured it out pretty well on the next one. I recommend buying a cheap circuit board to practice on first, if you’re a soldering newbie. My only suggestion is for SafeTap to make a detailed tutorial video on best installation and soldering process. That would help a lot. All in all, great product and great company.

In my opinion there is no reason to ever install a different P-Tap connector again. Yes, it is pricey but how many cables will actually need the upgrade and what are the potential costs of saving 40 bucks on a connector. I have no doubt this is the way to go. You do need a soldering iron though.

Been using them for years now and so worth the cost. Love having the insurance of these on my cameras...

I dislike that I didn't have this before...we lost SDI output from one of our cameras due to P/D-tap power issues. Not repairable!
