As a 73 year old Engineer, I've used HUNDREDS of molly bolts in my jobs, and at home. To be blunt, this tool is a waste....in order for it to function as demonstrated I'd have to have a grip that would rival Superman's!!!! The easy way to install molly bolts is (1) Locate and drill the hole for the molly bolt. (2) Back off the screw about 1/4" and load into the 'tool'. (3) Insert the molly bolt all the way into the hole and clamp down on the 'tool' handle to 'set' the molly bolt in the wall. (4) Remove the 'tool', and using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten up the screw until the molly bolt flange head recedes somewhat into the wall. (5) Completely remove the screw and use to attach whatever you installed the molly bolt for. Molly bolts themselves are a good buy, hence the 4-star rating.

I couldn't figure what I was doing wrong with the first "compressor tool". I kept watching the how-to video and still stymied! What I didn't figure was the tremendous grip pressure involved with the first "compressor tool" I got. When I finally figured out that what I was missing was GORILLA GRIP!What I missed was the the difference between their two product sets —1 - "Hollow Wall Anchor Set with Fixing Gun Tool" - was a super labor intensive solution!!2 - "Heavy Duty Metal Setting Tool, Paick Hollow Wall Metal Cavity Anchor Plasterboard Fixing". Still requiring a strong grip, but MUCH better than the first one.The above two are in quotation marks, as they appear exactly in Amazon product search descriptions. Although 'crimping' the wall anchor [w/ #2] is not a "breeze" like the video suggests, it is far more "doable" than #1. It is a clever solution to drywall and pasteboard wall mounting. I learned by trial and error, believe me.Anchor bolts only work if there's enough depth of substrate to secure the bolt during tightening. You don't have that luxury with pasteboard. You need something that will draw up and secure the anchor, regardless of wallboard thickness - this system does that.UPDATE: I had to remove one star for a big oversight in this brilliant product. There is no drill bit size guide for the different size anchors. SO - I will have to get a scrap piece of drywall, experiment with different size drill bits, then mark the case compartments with a sharpie. Guessing "just don't get it".

I had bought a couple different kinds but none worked near as well as these

Used Hollow wall mounts before but they twisted when tightening and didn't line up well for removing and reinserting screws.This tool solved those problems.

I followed the instructions and when I pulled the Molly to tighten with the tool it pulled the back so tight that it came through the drywall. Tried a second hole and had same issue. Third try I didn’t d not pull as tight. The screw heads are are set wiggly within the Molly so was thinking not going to work. hung my mirror anyway only have the mirror lose which gave it play and the stress pulled the whole Molly out of the wall! Total fail. Might work if your mounting a bracket flush without need to put weight directly on the screw.

Needed to hold a metal pegboard to drywall. This did the job, right smart.

This is a nice collection of moly bolts. Drill a hole. place the moly bolt into the hole, unscrew the screw just a little bit, hook the cool setting tool onto the head of the screw and squeeze. It compresses the bolt perfectly. Because it does not twist the bolt, you can repair holes that have come loose near an edge without having to first repair the drywall. Excellent overall product and value!
