Can only wear for a couple of hours at a time until there broken in properly

I am not sure if I just havnt broken them in yet it has been a long time since I have owned a pair of these but they are quite painful to wear, even around the house. I am used to wearing Sketchers so trying to get me to put on these is a challenge.These ARE amazing boots, they are a pair I will have forever. I just hope they are the correct size and not just stupid uncomfortable to break in.

I love these boots, and I had to edit this review as I had to return them as the one that looked different started leaking rain water in and my foot was soaked! Think these boots have been glued and not heat welded and sewn like the authentic Dr. Martens off their official site. I ordered authentic docs from their site and they're like wearing slippers compared to these!They're a little snug especially with a thicker sock. The colour is amazing, not in your face. The one boot looked slightly different in shape from the other and is rubbing and digging into the back of my heel and leg, I am leaving them open past my ankle so they don't cause further damage as my foot now has a sore on it where it's rubbed. I am having to wear a bandage to stop it digging in me any further. I would think this will settle down when they are worn in a bit. Docs are notorious for being hard to wear in. Seller recommended. I bought these boots from Amazon over a year ago now.I treated the boots as per the manufacturers care instructions.As with some of the negative reviews I encountered the following.- The substance the boots were coated in (some sort of plastic) appeared to crack and fall off where your foot bends when you walk. I couldn't understand the purpose of the substance.- There was an uncomfortable bit above the foot (where the laces start) that made them uncomfortable to walk in even after they had been thoroughly broken in. I managed to fix this by cutting out the badly cut piece of leather with a sharp knife.They are now a comfortable pair of boots to wear however don't look as good or have not aged as well as they should. By comparison I took the advice of one of the other reviewers here and purchased a pair of Solovairs which look almost identical and were the original people who made Dr Martens and they have been (while more expensive) absolutely brilliant after being broken in.I know people have had different experiences with Dr Martens depending on where they were made. My black pair appear to have been made in Vietnam, possibly there could have been teething problems in the manufacturing process?

Fast dispatch and delivery, came a few days before the expected date. These shoes are really comfortable, I put them on as soon as they arrived and took the risk of wearing them to work knowing that they might be painful but I'm surprised at how comfortable they were especially being the first time I wore them. I do wear thick socks which might help and means I don't have any trouble wearing them in. I have another pair of 1460's and have had them for about a year now, and my new shoes feel the same as they do (just as comfortable), like I said the fact that I wear thick socks might be why they haven't felt painful so I'd recommend doing that. Basically, these shoes are very comfortable and they look beautiful

I ordered a 7f even though i am usually an 8 because they are biggger than your usual size. The F is supposed to mean wider but really made little difference. The colour was good and the boots were very nice. I think they will take a bit of time to wear in as the leather feels slightly stiff or hard at the moment. I have been wearing them with thick socks and this is helping to break them in. £58 was a very very good price compared to other websites I've been on.Over all pleased, 4 star due to being hard to break in but lovely boots overall.

I got these shoes and from the moment I opened the box, I knew these would be perfect. The shoes are of superb quality. The leather finish on them is very smart. I brought the green ones, and they are the most comfortable boots I have had.The leather is quite stiff at first and will require a week or two to break in.The only thing I have had to get used to on these boots is the stiff leather around the top of boot. This has a habit to dig into upper ankle, and though thick socks appear to help this, it does get better once leather softens with increased use.These boots will stand the test of time. They look great, feel great, and all for a decent price.Highly recommended.
