I would say to small for a 10 yr old Perfect rod my 5 yr old grandson

It it made to snap onto a 1/2 inch piping. I'm sure if you want it too you could make something to make it mount it to a door

Q: What is the tallest you can adjust the height to?

Our basket sits up to 21 inches on a hard floor, not adjustable. In the water it is an inch lower. Our grandsons love this in the pool. Hope this helps you. Great investment.
