GREAT pulley system! I can literally pickup my kid with one finger!! (hahah when he has a foot-strap to step into & rope to hold onto, keep those little fingers out of the pulley & rope system! ;-) (FYI I'm NOT endorsing anything stupid, do what you want at your own risk...just fun to show the power of physics! ;-) I changed the tie-off a little, for simplicity's sake. Great quality, over-delivers on the price to performance ratio. Get it and simplify your life in your garage or wherever you use it!

These are good little winches. Now don’t take me wrong, if I had to stand under a 4,000 pound load that they are rated for, I highly doubt I’d be here writing this review… I think that number is drastically inflated for the weight they can actually safely handle. I wouldn’t hesitate to put 1,000 maybe 1,500 pounds on one, but I seriously doubt the somewhat cheap 3/8 rope would hold any more than that even if the chassis would. Anyways for $25, they are great, I even ordered a second one because when lifting practically anything with some weight, you almost always need to lifting devices to be safe and secure.

Not what I expected and not what I would stand underneath something I had hoisted up above my head. First, the ad copy explicitly states metal wheels (called sheaves) and metal ball bearings. It does not have that. The wheels are plastic on metal sleeves. So there goes the strength and long term durability of the pulley system. The product states it uses ¼” woven polypropylene rope. The breaking strength is 1200 lbs. but the recommended working load for that rope is about 120 lbs. new. I won’t even get into the shear strength of the machine screws holding the pulley blocks together. Suffice to say the entire design is certainly pushing strength limits and not to industrial standards. Also, in this and some of the other on line pulleys, the illustrations have been altered to show a 1:6 mechanical advantage. In reality, the system as receive is a 1:5 ratio. That short tail end shown in the illustration…. with the knot… not the pulling rope end…must be tied off on the bottom of the upper block’s lower bolt. So if you are looking to lift something valuable or to lift above your head, I recommend you spend the money and get something much more robust. You get what you pay for.

So, my dad had a 76 Lincoln Continental (5200 pounds) that he (66 years old) needed to move into his carport. He and his friend tried pushing it into the carport and could not get it to move. I ordered this for him and he was able to pull the car in with one hand and walking, using barely any effort. It's not the greatest quality but for the price, it was well worth it.

i bought this item some time ago and was just recently able to use it. Worked like a champ. I used it to help me lift up a small roof truss.

Is as described it won’ pickup the four tonne but it will do the odd jobs i need I hookup rear end jd ride on mower just to try no problem it will be used parcel arrived earlier than expected good service good driver thanks
