New Balance Women's 840 V5 Running Shoe

Perfect, comfortable fit, great looking shoe. Would like more color choices in my size.

These are the most comfortable shoes for my wide feet and my problem with my arches, balance and stability. I do not run but do a lot of walking and these cushion my feet well. They also have a wider toe box for room for my bunions and other foot problems and accommodate my custom orthotics. Over the years, I have tried many other shoes and always go back to these!

I’ve been wearing more expensive, high end sneakers for stability after a bad sprain last summer. Took a chance on these NB to save $, glad I did! Stable, comfortable, and supportive. I work in a hospital, and these offer all day comfort when I’m on my feet all day.

I've had New Balance shoes in the past and have always been very happy with the comfort level. Sadly my feet have changed after years of being on them for work... they've grown wider and I now have a bunion on my right foot. Finding shoes I can tolerate standing in all day has become a nightmare. I had high hopes for these. The cushioning was wonderful and they seemed to be wide enough that they might have worked. Only problem is they seem to me to run a bit short so my toes were all the way to the end of the shoe which hurt my big toe. I ended up having to send them back. I'm thinking I may try going up half a size and see how that works out.

The 840 running shoes were exactly what I needed. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I mostly wear these shoes for walking for exercise on a 3-mile paved trail.

I have always liked New Balance. This pair is a great treadmill shoe. They are light but sturdy. The wide width is perfect. I need a D width and they fit perfectly.

I have wide feet so thought these would be a good try but unfortunately they were not a good fit for my particular feet but could be fine for others with a high foot. No matter how tight I tried to get the laces these shoes would not fit snug. There was just so much extra room on the top of the foot and toes that my foot was sliding around in these. The width was fine, may even a bit too big, but I did get the wides because usually regular doesn't work for me but I maybe could have gone with regular. There also seems to be unnecessary padding in various parts of the shoe making it even bigger and bulkier than needed, it looked like i had Frankenstein feet they were so huge and bulky. The padding around the top/ankle was odd too, it had extra padding there as if it was trying to hold on to your ankle more snugly to compensate for the rest of the shoe being too big, but I found that padding to be hard and oddly shaped and hurt from just the one minute I tried them on. If you have wide and high feet, just overall large feet, these could work out well for you.

I am on my third pair of this style of show by New Balance. The sole is just stiff enough to stabilize my ankles and has enough cushion to be comfortable all day.

NB 840 are the only rubber soled walking/hiking supportive runners that work for me. I have feet that require a wide tie box and narrow heels.
