Q: What features make these more suitable for working on a hybrid car than regular lineman gloves would be?

These are regular electrical safety gloves. They come in class 00 (500 VAC/750 V DC), class 0 (1000 VAC), class 1, etc., up to class 4 which is rated 30,000 VAC. The higher the rating, the thicker the rubber and the more dexterity you lose. These are class 0 gloves, which is rated higher than you need for any hybrid car I know of, but class 0 is a little sturdier than class 00, so it's probably a good choice.In other words, there's nothing special about the gloves--the seller has simply done the research for you to pick out an appropriate pair of gloves.

Q: This leather glove cancels out the 5kv protection of the rubber glove, what if my hand touches two 600V buss bars? Will it conduct across the leather?

Class 0 gloves are rated for 1000 volts... the leather gloves are designed to help protect the rubber gloves. "in theory" 600 volts would not pass through the gloves provided they have not been compromised. Due to liability reasons, I will not say you are ok to touch any voltage over 48volts ... the system should be de-energized if you are working on any High Voltage systems....(in my honest opinion)

Q: Will the gloves come with a date stamped on them and will the date be within the last year?

they will be dated, but I believe they are good for 6 months from the date you open them.

Q: Is there any size reference?

What I would do is this: go to one of the gloves specialty sites or such that provides a table that you can use to measure your hand with a paper or lightweight metal measuring tape to find out that length around your hand (minus the thumb). My measurement was nine inches. Then I went to the previous site and matched my number (9) against their "alpha" which was M medium. Hope this helps.
