Small-scale Outdoor Pig Breeding

While this book was aimed at a British audience, the information more than applies to those of us on the other side of the pond as well. I enjoyed the book, especially the detailed photos and the down-to-earth writing style. I was especially interested in this book in the first place because I am buying KuneKune pigs and many pig-related resources don't address this style of pig (smaller, grazing pigs). This book addresses KuneKune pigs and their particularities, but also covering many other, more traditional pig breeds. This, to me, was the PERFECT starting place for me as a novice pig owner! I highly recommend it to anyone who is either a) interested in KuneKune pigs or b) a novice pig owner.

This is a very informative book on KuneKune pigs. It probably has the best information I've seen at this point since this is a fairly new pig to the US.

Having just bought a farm in Portugal I am keen to get some kune kune pigs. I’m doing some research first and am so pleased I found this kune kune pig bible!

Some may consider this book simplistic, but for someone who has never bred swine and needs the ABC’s of every detail involved, it was fantastic! I’m certain my pigs would thank me if they could :)

I really like this book. I raise pigs but don't breed- yet. This is a great, easy to read resource for those looking at getting in to pig breeding. It is somewhat direct toward kunekune breeding, but all breeds are covered.

This is a lovely little book. However I don't feel the title suits it. It doesn't cover outdoor maintenance very much at all. Most of the pictures of sows with piglets, they are in a barn! She doesn't cover sows farrowing together and tandem nursing. The pictures are delightful. This is a British book. For American readers: a torch is a flashlight!

This is a well written, easy to follow book. I absolutely loved it.
