Good for knives as well as scissors
Just received this and have sharpened most of my knives and some of my scissors. I bought this particular product so that I could sharpen my gardening tools. It appears that I bought the correct product.

The jury is still out on this one
First of all, I had to return the first one because the on/off switch was broken and I couldn't even use it. When the second one arrived I immediately used it to sharpen my knife set. The "forced angle" appears to be just right, and you can certainly notice a sharpened edge after using them. The directions (indicating the different sharpening slots) were incorrect, but you can quickly figure that one out. The reason I said the jury is still out is I'm not sure how long the sharpening stone/wheels will last - - when I first started sharpening some steak knives, the sound was a distinct grinding...but when I got to the 7th or 8th knife, the sound was not quite as crisp leading me to believe the stones were dulling.

Easy to use
I have tons of knives, but it seems like they’re constantly dull. I was excited to get this electric knife sharpener and it’s rated as a professional, electric knife sharpener. It has four slots. I didn’t have any trouble plugging it in. Slot one is a crude and a course you do left and then the right, and then you have slot 2 for fine, and again left and right. Three is a polish and I didn’t use slot 3 at all and then the last one, the slot 4, you actually pull the cover off and this is for doing scissors.I didn’t have any trouble using these. I did a bunch of my butcher knives, and they went fantastic. The directions tell you that you turn it on and you put the knife in the slot pull in one direction. You sharpen it in each slot 3 to 5 times left and right if it’s not sharpen if you just keep doing it. I didn’t have any issues most times I did it for on each side.Overall I like the quality the product. I like how very simple is to use. I didn’t have any trouble. I did not do any serrated knives everything I did it was a straight edge, but I am happy to say that it worked great on my chefs knife, my fruit knife, and my scissors. Very easy to do and an excellent gift to give to somebody.

Fantastic
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Professional Electric Knife Sharpener for Kitchen Straight/Serrated/Ceramic Knives, Scissors, Multi-fun and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. This sharpener is a game-changer in the kitchen.Firstly, the variety of knives and tools that this sharpener is compatible with is impressive. I was able to sharpen my straight knives, serrated knives, ceramic knives, and even my scissors! This made my kitchen tasks much easier as I didn't have to switch between different sharpeners for different knives. The sharpening process itself was quick and easy. I simply inserted my knife or tool and let the machine do its work. The diamond abrasive grinding wheels sharpened my blades to a razor-sharp edge in no time, and the built-in guides ensured that I maintained the correct angle for optimal sharpness.Lastly, the design of this sharpener is sleek and modern. It doesn't take up much space on my kitchen counter and is easy to store away when not in use. The non-slip suction cup feet kept the sharpener in place during use, which made me feel safe and secure while sharpening my knives.Overall, I highly recommend the Professional Electric Knife Sharpener for Kitchen Straight/Serrated/Ceramic Knives, Scissors, Multi-fun. It's efficient, versatile, and easy to use. If you're looking for a high-quality sharpener to make your kitchen tasks easier, this is definitely the one to invest in.

Not “professional” and not happy
I needed a knife sharpener because my 20+ year old KitchenAid set has seen better days and desperately needs sharpening and I’m uncomfortable using manual sharpening blocks, which work wonderfully. My initial thoughts from handling the box is that it’s really light, not something I consider a good thing when it comes to a knife sharpener. I tested it with the two knives I use the most, a utility chefs knife and a long slicing knife. The instructions were poorly written but it a knife sharpener is pretty intuitive anyway. I did three full rounds of sharpening on the two knives and they are still dull, just slightly less. The stones easily get miss aligned and make a horrible noise without any added pressure. I had to turn it off to get it to stop it was so bad on one pass, the other time it fixed itself. The only place that was clearly sharpened was a spot near the back of both knives because the tang starts at the end of the blade, instead of being the same width the entire length, so you can tell where I started the process because I couldn’t start it from the back edge of the knife. Leaving it misshapen.I also tested it on a fairly sharp chefs knife (I bought a few knives a year ago) as well to see if there would be any noticeable change… It too, was also minimal. Also, there was no misshapen edge because the blade is a consistent width. So it’ll keep a sharp knife sharp, but that’s not what a sharpener is for. And sharpening removes metal over time which will eventually affect the quality and longevity of the knife. It’s best not to sharpen often only when needed. Use a honing steel to straighten the blade before each use, which doesn’t remove metal. This is not a professional grade knife sharpener, and for $109.99 at the time of review is way overpriced for a cheap item that barely works. The 5 star reviews make me wonder if they even tried it, or just took it out of the box for photos… Did I get a dud? I don’t think so… Don’t waste your money.
