The kettle got pretty hot when boiled if you touch it.
Just purchased this smeg kettle. The color is so beautiful. Very trendy looking. Works perfect. The only negative is that when the water get boiled. The outside is pretty hot if you accidently touch it. Other than that, I love everything about this Smeg kettle.

Beautiful Electric Kettle
I love this electric kettle. It is a splurge and I forced myself to wait until my old cheaper kettle died. It was worth it. The kettle is gorgeous and heats water up faster than my previous one. I also love the keep warm feature. I tend to use it for those mornings when the second pot of coffee or tea is required. I am very happy I bought it.

Beautiful color and style
Love my new water pot and toaster in pastel green. Despite the poor ratings, I have had no problems with either of these appliances. They are beautiful. They add a sweet spot to my black and white kitchen. Mine are working perfectly, no chips, no problems. Thank you Amazon & SMEG.

CHEAP quality
The media could not be loaded. DONT buy it, at least to this vendor. After using it for 2 months, the kettle lid came loose. Then I found small pieces of plastic in the water. It looks like the plastic is so cheap that started to disintegrate after a period of time.I made a great effort to buy it. Unfortunately, the window to return it is off. I will contact Smeg company. VERY disappointed.

Almost top notch in its class
While the kettle is well made and works wonderfully, there is a design flaw that renders it useless. The top is attached to the kettle by cheap plastic and will take very little abuse to get broken. Once it is broken the kettle will not work as it is designed not to heat up without the cap in place. This is my second Smeg kettle and I hope I can keep it longer than the two years I had the other. I take care of my belongings and treat them well but this took VERY little to become nothing more than a doorstop. Hope this helps in your decision.
