while the product does what is written on the tin, the plastic material makes the beads bounce uncontrollably. this results in unwanted beads added into or removed from the calculation. secondly, most of the "earth" beads stick to each other so when moving two or three, all four move together. separately, at first, the crossbar was bowed and squeezed all the "heaven" beads into the top rail. i had to to physically detach it and make it straight. i guess the seller set it like that for the purpose of its transport? if that was the case, a note would have been appreciated. all in all, this is not a bad product. but if one is looking to seriously adopt an abacus, one would do better to buy one made of wood instead of plastic.
