This 5640 camera module works with esp32s cam..I added a heatsink . overall is good.

Overall too costly for what little it does and the time it took to modify the default software meant for the OV2640. It works. Heats up even when you don't make it capture an image and heats a lot if you do. Pretty average image too. Stutters at high resolution videos.If you by any chance bought this, I fixed it by adding this line to the example sketch's camera_pins.h - #define XCLK_FREQ 20000000 under #define CAMERA_MODEL_AI_THINKER.Autofocus cannot work as the pin 24 to the camera ribbon on the esp32 cam board is permanently pulled low.

if you want to upgrade from ov2640, DO NOT buy this, it does have more resolution than ov2640 but pixels quality is worse than ov2640, making overall image quality even more bad than it.it heats up way too much (even when not in use).I have compared both of ov2640 and this ov5640 and ov2640 have better performance some how, both in video and image capturing.

The Camera is noisy. Maybe because of long cable length or something else. Vertical colorful lines are visible at higher resolutions.
