Shea Brand Original Lip Balm, 0.28 OZ

Actually bought this product almost 2 years ago. Used it pretty regularly for a while and then got lazy about having to push it up with my finger. Wasn't sure it was as good as some of the other things I was using too. Anyway, I recently ran across it still in a drawer and started using it to see if it would help eliminate the chapped lips that developed during an illness I just got over that lasted a couple of weeks. It was one of those things where I breathed through my mouth a lot, hence the chapped lips. Lo and behold, this stuff started healing my lips almost immediately. I do like the peppermint and I realize that I do very much appreciate that it is not using plastic for a case. It is a type of cardboard but obviously since I've had it for almost 2 years it doesn't break down. Now I figure it's definitely time to order more as I believe it's going to be my new go to.

First the packaging is wimpy, weak and just difficult to use. If "SB" wants to use paperboard packaging for lip balm they need to do it properly! Go look at Ethique product and their packaging. Same idea, but thicker, sturdier and stands up well to repeated use. Easier to push and you do NOT have to hold your finger in the bottom to push up while applying. The SB balm is gritty and does not feel moisturizing. Obviously not a high quality Shea butter in here. The Shea does not melt at body temperature for maximum moisturizing, it remains gritty and stiff. Because of that, I do not like the feel of the balm on my lips and do not find it moisturizing.

I really love this lip balm. It has a nice touch of pepermint that's not overwhelming and gives my lips a fresh soothing feeling. I have a hard time with lipbalms because they either only stay on the lips for a short amount of time and crusts over time or they are way too sticky and my hair ends up getting stuck on my lips. This lip balm is light and does not crust at all, leaving my lips feeling nourished. Additionally, the shea butter goes on the lips so well, it is not too sticky. Also, you can use the lip balm as a primer and add a nice matte lipstick on top of it. Because of the balm, my lips stay hydrated and prevents matte lipsticks from drying out my lips. I really love this product, high quality and great costumer service. Highly Recommend!!

This was my 3rd time purchasing. I love this product and how long it lasts on my lips! I dont have to re apply every 10 minutes like other chapsticks.Good quality/clean ingredients.Only negative is how poorly packaged it is. The paper tube does NOT work well, every time i apply it keeps pushing the tube back down. Once you get to the last 25% of it, you have to use a pencil or something to poke the tube up enough to use- finger is too big to fit.

My lips have been so dry this winter and the Shea Lip Balm instantly made them feel better --- especially nice because I have mild eczema on my lips which can be painful. I also have to be careful because Chapstick and other balms can cause me to break out with cold sores, so I'm pretty particular with what I put on my lips. Shea is a natural alternative that I don't have to worry about causing me breakouts. I also love the packaging -- so nice to get something that isn't in plastic. I love the elegant floral design. I will continue to keep this product on hand and will keep it in mind next time I need a gift for someone!!

I bought this as an alternative to my other favorite lip balm that came in a plastic tube. The packaging for this product is plastic-free, which is GREAT, and the design is also nice enough that it looks appealing and cute! Was a little dubious about the texture of the balm itself at first, since it feels a little grainy upon first contact, but it melts and smooths out right away once you swipe it on and massage it in a bit. And unlike most drugstore lip balms, this stuff doesn't leave any waxy or dry residue-- it goes on smooth, and keeps my lips feeling soft and moisturized for hours. I bought the peppermint, which also has a pleasant cooling sensation and subtle minty fragrance when applied. Very happy to have finally found a good lip balm that comes with environmentally-safe packaging!!

comes in a paper tube that wants you to press it from the bottom up and made poorly design. Way tiny and about the size of my female pinky finger - not worth the price and total crap - do not buy this BS!

Works very well for me and I will definitely buy again. I don't want to ever be without it. Shea Brand healed my dry lips problem with only 2-3 applications a day underneath a little DHC Lip Cream. Never felt anything like it with other lip balms. If you have dry or cracked lips which chapsticks and balms can't heal, try giving this product a try.... It's wonderful!
