Butcher Holler: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn

A FITTING TRIBUTE
I never really listened to country music in the 60s (far from hip and too "60s Nashville"). What is a revelation is how sassy Loretta Lynn's songs are - no wonder Jack White recorded her (Loretta) in 2004. Eilen Jewell is my current favourite singer (by a country mile). This is the way Nashville should have made music in the 60s. Eilen's exceptional voice together with her superb (regular) band has produced the best tribute to any singer I have ever heard - no wonder Loretta was happy to be pictured on the sleeve.

It's just too short
Absolutely first class playing, singing and delivery from Eilen as usual. The only negative is the run time.A really nice addition to your collection.

A great tribute to Loretta Lynn

Another Jewell!!
Eilen Jewell is a talented artist who has already recorded some great material on her own and with The Sacred Shakers. This album is a tribute to Loretta Lynn and Eilen stamps her own style onto some great songs. Check her albums out if you like country / folk / rock / gospel material.
