It works!
This product has achieved more in a week in my pond that other natural products costing 4 times as much achieved in months or not at all in most cases. It didn't do much for duck weed, but the sludge has reduced by 50% and the algae by 70% already. Each day more and more of the debris and gunk have disappeared and the water is crystal clear. More gunk to go but I have left the pierced bag in the pond to continue working through the year. My fish have not been adversely affected in any way as they now can move more freely through clear water. Good product.

Crystal clear water, not !!!
Many years ago I purchased this product through garden news and it worked perfectly, in recent years the blanket weed has become once again a nightmare so I bought it here. You can pour it into a filter box or onto the surface water, I did both which was easy, I didn't get the milk coloured water as previous, the product just sunk to the bottom of the pond. It removed a few strands of blanket weed but the majority had to be scooped out. I don't know if the ingredients have altered in any way. But don't take my word just buy one bag try it yourself if you have a small pocket of blanket weed it could work for you. Price is a bit expensive but then so are most pond treatments

Effective product
Very helpful and pleasant staff. The product seems to be working after a few weeks.

Not Clear Yet!
I used it to clear my pond of sludge, algae and duckweed. So far, it hasn't done. The water is a little bit clearer, but not much. I'm hoping that it will continue working over the summer, as I know it doesn't work straight away.

The water in my pond was looking rather brown and ...
The water in my pond was looking rather brown and murky. I applied the white Aquaplancton powder mixed with pond water through a watering can. For a couple of days the pond looked dreadful - a milky brown mess - but then the water began to clear as the powder settled. After a week or so the pond water was looking much clearer although the Aquaplancton was still evident settled on the bottom of the pond: the instructions say that it will be a few more weeks before this disappears. Throughout the process the pond life - frogs, tadpoles, newts, toads and insects - have not been affected at all. A 1kg pack is plenty for a small pond.

Disappointing
Difficult to review. Now about a month after application. I turned off UV and pump for a few days after adding, and calculated amount to add v carefully. Blanket and duck weed seemed to diminish noticeably, but not fully gone and existing weed is now ‘re growing’. Created huge amount of sludge on the bottom of the pond- that I had to clear out yesterday. There was a lot of healthy blanket weed in this sludge too. Plants, under waterline, very covered with particles too. The pond water is still unclear/greenish. I don’t know what to try. I bought a big bag, thinking enough for 2nd treatment. I might try again but know this will create more work ie clearing out sludge- as it clogged up the pump. Any suggestions really welcome. Love my pond. It appears very healthy but I just can’t clear the water.

Clearer water
We only have a small black plastic pond, for wildlife only, and it was clogged with blanket weed. My mother recommended this product as she had used it years ago. The first application did make the water clearer, and I was amazed to see all our tadpoles. Trouble is, predators also saw all our tadpoles and the next day at least half had gone, presumably eaten! So I would say not to use Aquaplancton while tadpoles are in the pond unless you have plenty of vegetation for them to hide under (which we didn't really have as it is is a newish pond). Predators can include grass snakes, and as we have lots of long grass in this, our new 'wildlife area', that is a strong possibility. But that's the circle of life, and certainly if all the tadpoles survived we'd be over run! In recent days of high heat I've noticed the blanket weed has got a lot thicker again, true to its name. I will use the product again, but once the packet is finished I don't think I'll get another one but will try barley straw.

It looks as if its working
Arrived fine, instructions OK but when I tried to cover pond I had white powder all over me. So, got a bucket, pondwater and rainwater, mixed rest of powder in, and poured it into pond. Works a treat like that. The pond has been so clear since I used it. The duckweed (which is why I got it) has been much better, and am skimming it off.
