GARDENA CW-9MOS-Y Metal Oscillating Sprinkler, Yellow

Sturdy and has many watering positions to use. We have a sprinkler system but I use when there is new grass or a problem area. Would recommend. Always nice to have a backup sprinkler.

I have so far bought three of these sprinklers from Amazon for the 2013 season. Each replaced a Melnor sprinkler purchased from Home Depot that lasted no longer than one season. I have purchased this sprinkler in yellow, green and blue. I have been using the yellow sprinkler for a month with good results. Please note however that there is large amount of plastic visible in the oscillating mechanism-- to suggest that this is all metal is very misleading. Also note that the blue sprinkler arrived with the flow control mechanism broken. I am expecting a replacement in accordance with Amazon's product guarantee policies. I also plan to update these reviews at the end of the 2013 season (or earlier if necessary) to confirm whether or not they last the entire season under normal usage two or three times a week for a few hours at a time. Even if they do last, these are nothing like the all metal oscillating sprinklers that were made in the USA that I had growing up in the 1960's.UPDATE AS OF OCTOBER 2013: All three sprinklers performed reliably under regular usage during the 2013 summer season. One sprinkler did start sticking during the rotation cycle but it fixed itself after a few days (with no specific actions taken to try to fix the problem). I am sticking with my 4 out of 5 rating because (a) the price was relatively high, (b) some of the plastic parts are relatively cheap and flimsy (as witnessed by the sprinkler which arrived broken and which Amazon promptly replaced), and (c) they performed adequately but not flawlessly during the first year of use.

Well-constructed, it doesn't feel like it'll break like most other sprinklers do.
