Works VERY well for stink bugs!!! Important details below...must read
First off, I have to point out a very important detail about this bug vacuum...before using this on an actual bug, I tested the suction against my hand, expecting a vacuum-like suction against my skin, but I felt very little suction, so I didn't have high hopes, and to be honest, I almost chalked it up as a loss and returned it. I'm so glad I didn't because after seeing a stink bug climbing on the wall, I put this up to the bug, pulled the trigger, and the bug was IMMEDIATELY pulled into the jar like magic! I was shocked that it actually worked and worked well! The bug wasn't harmed, and I was able to quickly close the top of the jar to trap it in. I've since caught numerous stink bugs, and each time it's like one second, they're at the opening, and the next second, they're in the jar. It's pretty cool. I'm still confused about how it works so well since it feels like there's little to no suction against my hand. So, don't let that fool you. It works! 100%! And as an added plus, it doesn't cause the bugs to release their nasty smell like they have when I've used my dyson. Highly recommend.

Got ladybugs? This little vacuum is for you!
This little bug vacuum works great! Living in a historic home, we have lots of little ladybug visitors during certain parts of the year. This little vacuum sucks them up safely so that we can release them back outside. It works on stink bugs and flies as well. To be frank, I never really expected it to work on flies, but if they are cornered in a window or lamp shade, it works great. While the suction power of the vacuum is not comparable to a regular vacuum cleaner, the design of the tip allows you to close down around the bug—and up it goes! The small size of the vacuum makes it very convenient to tuck inside a drawer and pull it out when needed.

We use this toy as a serious tool against pumpkin beetles!
This may be a kids' toy, but in the fall when pumpkin beetles and stink bugs storm our house, this thing is invaluable! No, the suction isn't great, but it has never failed to catch a beetle or a stink bug.The best part is the manually operated trap door, which is located on the removable jar.Once I suck a bug into the gun, I open the trap door, and bump the bottom of the jar with my palm until the bug drops in, then closevthe door.Because the bugs can't get out, you don't have to rush to empty it.My wife once caught no less than 50 pumpkin beetles in an afternoon, she left them for me to perform the burial at sea (flush tem down the toilet). We obviously had an opening somewhere in the house because we've had to remove hundreds of beetles a week. The point is, this thing is awesome. You'll probably never catch a fly with it. But, it does great for slow moving bugs whose bodies are dime size or smaller (not including legs). For flies, get a Bug-A-Salt gun!

Fun, But Not as Powerful as Expected
The PLAY Bug Vacuum is a fun and eco-friendly way to catch bugs, but it wasn’t as powerful as I hoped. Maybe I was trying to catch bugs that were too big, but it struggled a bit. Still, it’s a great toy for younger kids and works well for smaller critters.

Weak, and then Nonfunctional
I got this to replace a different bug catcher I had... hoping this would be better/easier. I regret it. The suction was so weak the stink bug I tried to grab just laughed at it. After placing the device directly on top of the bug and wiggling it around the stink bug finally entered the nozzle, at which point it flew to the inner part of the nozzle where it stayed(picture attached). The "downdraft" is so poorly designed its virtually non-existent, so much so I tried grabbing a moth in my home only for the moth to become plastered to the back fan like a bug on a windshield, never being pushed down into the catch container. It wasn't even strong enough to push FRUIT FLIES into the catch container. I changed out the batteries considering that sometimes even new ones can be "duds" but no luck. Not only were the first set of batteries still good upon testing, but after no more than 5 minutes of use with the new batteries the device no longer works AT ALL. It is completely dead. It doesn't even work well as a paperweight.
