Tool worked perfectly, planted 800 plugs in a few hours. Shipping was fast, and early. Worth the few bucks more.

The product is just fine. Some advice I learned the hard way is that if you are plugging with moist compacted soil you will need to empty each soil plug from the tube each time. You will need a long rake handle or something similar to push the soil out from the top of the tube. I made the mistake of taking three 4” soil plugs which do move up and wedge into the tube. Ramming with a rake handle with this much compacted soil will not work, I had to pick the compacted soil out from the bottom end. Actually had to use a narrow bladed coping saw to remove some 15” up in the tube. I had 50 zoysia sod plugs to plant so the other 47 holes were completed one at a time prior to planting. Taking a video of this plugging episode would have brought tears to your eyes.

I found that it didn’t work in wet sandy loam or hard clay that has not been tilled. I will try it again when the sandy loam soil dries up. The seller contacted me and resolved the issue. They responded quickly and were very nice.

If I could give something zero stars, I absolutely would. Used it one time and after two pushes the thing was completely clogged and needed to go to the store and buy long metal rods to get the plugs out.

It works well and does exactly what it's meant for. Seems to be all steel construction. It's nice to be able to stack 7 or 8 plugs inside instead of doing 1 at a time.

my old tool did one plug at a time .this new one 8 at a time much easier to use. Fast and you save money not buying seed.

This product works so well for extracting zoysia plugs for transplanting. I can do about 10 at a time with the two inch depth. It is so fast and efficient! One of the best products I have ever purchased!
