Really fun
I love to tinker, this is perfect for me. Looking for something else with more pieces.

A good kit with everything you need
The parts are smaller than I expected with this being labeled ages 8+. I would rate it more for older teens as this requires quite a bit of attention to detail and the parts are quite little. It kit is quite different from other projects I've done (with or without the kids) so there was a bit of a learning curve until I found what worked for me. The parts come in 5 trays and there is an insert that labels each piece in the tray. The bolts, washers/spacers, and nuts come in small individually but clearly labeled bags, and there are quite a few of them! The parts themselves often vary only a little so it is important to construct this on a surface where there is no risk of hitting the trays or parts rolling away from you. Some of the instructions could be clearer but it isn't so bad as to cause real issues. What worked for me: I worked over a tray (a puzzle board would work, too, if you need more space) and laid the parts out on the assembly diagram. Also helpful is to wait until you're sure everything is in place before you tighten everything. With the tail there is a part that looks completely uniform until you go to tighten it and realize two of the sides have barely noticeable notches so it can fit flush with the structure under it.The trays have covers so you can pack up the unused bits back into the box when you pause the build; I found this helpful as we have cats and none of the parts were lost.Overall, this is a fun change of pace from legos (and flat-pack furniture) to assemble. The only down side is there is nothing to lock the nuts on place and they tend to loosen at odd times once the scorpion has been assembled- so this is more for display only.

Pretty cool concept
I gave this to my 12 year old, who has not been inclined to just build stuff, so maybe not the right fit for her, but she thought it was neat and immediately took it...but has not made a ton of progress.I will say, opening it is intimidating as others have said. The number of pieces is as expected per the listing, but when you actually see them, all laid out, and how small they are...it's kind of like 'whoa'.They provide everything you need for putting it together which is great, we've had cheaper kits where the supplied tools were less than stellar. These appear better than that. The finished product looks great- by other people's pictures! Hoping we can get there eventually, but it does take patience, and a place to keep small parts that will not get lost...I will say this type of puzzle may not be for everyone (I know my 7 year old son would love it, but based on other kits he's has challenges with, he is not ready for this...). But for those who it is right for, highly recommended for the challenge and finished product.

So much fun!
I'm not going to lie. I ordered this, thinking it would be a nice little object to build, but when I opened the box, I was intimidated as hell! I mean there was a lot of stuff in that box, and a whole slew of tiny little parts that had me feeling a bit overwhelmed. In fact, I put it away for a couple of months because I just couldn't face it.Finally I decided to get started. My recommendations:Make sure you have a space to lay everything out, in an organized manner, and can leave it undisturbed.Pay close attention.Once I got started, I just didn't want to stop. This was so much fun to put together.I don't tend to care for photo-only instructions, so that was part of my reluctance. Having said that, these photo-only instructions were very clear and I had no issues at all.All of the pieces in the trays are easily identified. The fasteners, in the bags, are a little trickier as the numbering system they use to mark them is a little odd and sometimes there will be six pieces in the bag, three each of two different things that look somewhat similar, so as I said, you really do have to pay attention! There is an 8+ on the box that looks, to me, like an age suggestion, though in the listing they say this is for adults. Please do not be confused by the box. This is by no means a young child's toy. I'd say teenager possibly. It comes in a really good box, so I would call it very giftable. I'd sure be happy to receive one of these. If you're organized, detail oriented, and a fan of building, I would HIGHLY recommend these 3D metal puzzles.

Great for unwinding and relaxing. Hours (literally) of fun.
I've always liked building models of all kinds. The old plastic models that needed the smelly glue in the tube were fun, but ever since the wooden laser-cut models have arrived, I prefer the less messy. This is one of the first metal puzzle/models that I've seen. I could tell it was going to be a lot of fun just looking at the large number of parts and the attention to detail. No glue or any supplies are needed. Just patience. It comes with the screwdrivers and tweezers and everything you need to build it.It would be great for older kids, but even as an adult, I find assembling 3D puzzles relaxing. It's a nice change from sitting at a keyboard all day. Doing something that results in completion is also a lot of what makes it great. Might not be for everyone, but for me it's a great way to unwind.I'm looking forward to making more. I've currently got my eye on the Orielle ornithopters, which look incredible.Overall, a very well made and satisfying puzzle. Highly recommended. Five stars.

Translation needs a LOT of help
The pieces? Well made. The diagrams? Not so bad (the first one labeling the items definitely could use some help and I swear one or two in my kit were blurry). The translation is AWFUL you will NOT be able to follow it, so that's where I rated the -1 star here.I've only gotten it about a quarter done but so far it's going. I do wish I had more instruction sometimes but I've made a lot of those tiny house kits so, at this point I'm a pro for figuring things like this out.
