Really, really poor. I wish I had read the reviews before bothering - now I have to go to the trouble of returning it.Execrable English - appallingly poor. Full of grammatical mistakes, obscurities and incredibly unclear. AND it gets details of text wrong AND the interpretations are extremely odd and, quite frankly, wrong.Totally unsuitable for A-level students - will advise mine not to buy this.Incredibly badly done of York - usually they are more reliable. This is horrifically bad quality, particularly in terms of editing and textual detail.

Not impressed. I've used York notes for years, in order to get a grip of texts I'm teaching. This one is fairly superficial and gets details from the text wrong! E.g. ' Bosola suggests Ferdinand 's uncovering of the secret is like 'lentative poisons ' which make 'the patient mad ', when in fact, Ferdinand says this.

although it has some good points, it lacks detail and is not useful for revision purposesI would suggest buying the "Study and Revise for AS/A-level: The Duchess of Malfi" as it is cheap and has very well explained points

This revision guide is completely and utterly a waste of your money. It is extremely complex in language and the layout is the worst thing I have ever seen. Don’t buy it!

Overall this book is nicely written and deals with most of the content and context needed, but only touches upon most of them. Having said that I would recommend it and buy another title from York notes if needed.

Good review and analysis of the play for an A level student, however you will need other resources and not just this one for a better picture. In all honesty though it would be better to get the copy of TDOM with the notes already published within the play.
