These printer head cleaning pens look like basically a pen that has some diluted isopropyl alcohol solution inside. They worked pretty well in scrubbing across the printer head and various other places that had accumulated some dust and debris. They're not anything special, you could do the same thing with a dust-free cloth and some alcohol solution but they do make it pretty simple and quick. The tip worked well for cleaning the printer head, the head seems stiff but soft enough to not damage it. Mine hadn't developed streaks yet and I think these would be best as maintenance for your printer every few months depending on how often you use it.

The Thermal Printer Cleaning Pen for Card Printer Thermal Printer is much like a felt tip marker but it's not. The tip is angled much like a miniature paint brush and very stiff. It's so stiff you can't readily bend it.It does contain some sort of cleaning fluid and has a slight odor. It doesn't smell like alcohol and I'm not quite sure what's in it. Whatever it is, it's plastic friendly as I first tested it on something plastic. The stiffness of the tip allows you to gently or more aggressively wipe the printer head.Since this is packaged much like a marker, the cap prevents the liquid from evaporating. In general, I've found that on markers like this that I don't use very often, I've had better luck with them stored with the cap in the down position. This way the liquid will be at the tip.
