My African cichlids get more excited when they see the bag of Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold than they do for any of the NLS foods (that are also good foods). They recognize the food and get very excited, swimming around more frantically than they do at the sight of any other food. Obviously, if you have cichlids you know they are very smart fish, especially when it comes to eating.My fish are healthy and colorful. However, even a sick fish or finicky eater will take this food, especially if it is soaked for a couple of minutes in a little bit of tank water. I find the large pellets (Mini pellets are about 3mm in size) are great to use for medicating the fish by soaking it in a little tank water with metro. I freeze what is left over and feed a few thawed pellets to a sick fish for about a week.The bag is a resealable zip-lock style enclosure, and it keeps the food fresh. Overall it's a very good product and provides the right balance of nutrients, color-enhancers, and (apparently) palatability at a good value for around $10 (shipped).

This is a wonderful product that my fish loveI feed them numerous types of fish food that are all pellets in different sizes and this is one of their favorites

I have one big 6 or 8 inch fish that loves these things. I feed him a pellet at a time and I watch him chase after them. THe other big fish doesn't like them - he spits them out.

These are great pellets and my fish seem to enjoy them. Although they say mini on the cover, they are a tad big for most of my fish. My larger angels (6'') can eat them with no problem, but my rams cant fit them in their mouths. I gave them 5 stars because they are a great product, just not for me. In the future I will be purchasing the baby pellets. They are a much better size for small (1''-3'') fish.

These pellets are about 2 or 3 times larger than what other brands call "mini" so I'm not able to feed this to the fish I had bought it for. It's still Hikari though, so in other words, a high quality fish food, and I know that my other (larger) fish will love it.I wish now that I had read the other reviews before ordering, but it said "Hikari" and "mini" so I put it in the cart and moved on. Lesson learned.
