I ordered five boxes of these bricks to line my outdoor fireplace. I was a bit skeptical about ordering them due to all of the people who received broken bricks. Of 150 bricks, only one was broken in half and was still usable, one had a chpped corner and was still usable. The bricks are light, easy to cut and easy to work with. Inititial impressions are very positive. Hopefully they will hold up long term,

5 broken bricks when delivered. Work good for bottom on Santa maria grill. Did the job. Should make bottom metal last a long time.

I know shipping is a separate matter from product quality, but there were only a couple of bricks out of the thirty that weren’t smashed, so I couldn’t use them to determine their quality. These were thin, very porous, lightweight and fragile. These are not for oven floors. They do not have a smooth surface. They look like pumice. They’re just insulating bricks to be used with something else covering them. Amazon let me return them free and gave me a full refund. Love that! The box was packed very loosely and was crushed from every angle, with cups of powder leaking from the corners.

30 for 30 on good bricks. I was expecting 5 to 12 to be broken. They must have improved the packaging, or the reports for the broken ones were the 3/4" bricks. These are 1-1/4.

Package arrived late, and 5 of the bricks were broken.

I’m so glad that I changed the old bricks didn’t realize the bricks were so disintegrated easy to cut with old hand saw the bricks have held up well in wood stove highly recommend this item
