I have tested this product, as well as a couple of other mylar odor blocking bags, with my bloodhound to determine whether or not it actually blocks odor. For the test I used a specific essential oil that my dog is trained to detect. I was very careful and not contaminate the outside of the bag with any oil residue and used gloves and forceps in order to place the scented "hide" in the bag. It did take my hand an unusually long amount of time to "find" the bait when enclosed in this bag; however, she did find it. I'm going to run the test again to see if double bagging and or heat sealing the bag renders it odor proof to the Bloodhound, but a single bag is not "nose proof"
