Real thing. Will be buying again.
Quality product. The picture shows sauce I made out of half block of tamarind. I put 1/2 lbs( about half package) in very hot 2 cups of water( I did cut tamarind in small chunks so hot water can beter penetrate tamarind), let it sit for about 40 minutes and then I strained it through mesh strainer by pushing pulp with spoon. Thanks for a great product!

Good quality/value - next best to fresh fruit!
I prefer this for making my own tamarind paste/concentrare than the bottled ones. Buying fresh tamarind fruit pods could be "iffy" as some come moldy and often dry. With a little extra effort and time, you'll get an excellent tamarind paste from this product which can be easily adjusted for thickness or thinness by the addition of more/less water. I highly recommend this brand.

Good product, but not seedless
The product I received was good quality, but was not seedless. Most of the seeds had been removed, but I ended up with about 20 whole seeds and some small fragments of seeds and shells in the mix, but they were not too much trouble to strain out after steeping the pulp in hot water. The flavor was good and the product seemed fresh (unspoiled). I found this to be an overall good value.

Fresh, natural, really good for you.
This is some of the best and freshest i've come across. I salt this and let the sun dry it for a few days, it's delicious as a tart snack, with fruits and really tasty on alot of dishes. Careful not to eat too much or chew it the entire time. It's best eaten like a 'hard candy" until it melts in your mouth, any of the flesh is edible and the seeds if any, are plantable, saveable and useable for other things.

NOT SEEDLESS!!
This product has a lot of seeds and they are like small rocks in your food!I almost cracked a tooth twice when my son used this for cooking and had a total of 5 rock hard seeds in a single modest serving portion. Be super careful if you use this product, we are going to use a different brand it will be absolutely worth paying more rather than stressing out over every bite we take.

Delicious
We were trying to make Pad Thai and could not quite get the taste. This Tamarind paste did the trick! You have to dissolve it in a sauce pan with a tiny bit of water and chop it up a bit with a wood stir stick. Great product, will buy it again!

Fantastic!
OMG, this tamarind paste is exactly what I was hoping for. It's true tart tamarind, not some over process and sugared crap. I bough this simply to eat as a snack and I was hoping it was not be sugared to make sweet. I will be purchasing this on a regular basis!

False Advertising - Full of Seeds and tough Fibers, This is a Pulp NOT Paste
Bought this to make pad thai sauce and was shocked to see that it was NOT a paste as described. You can see from the advertised pictures various artifacts within the product, those are seeds and long tough fibers in there. This mfgr basically mashed the entire tamarind into one big goop without removing any of the seeds. Wish I had read the reviews first! Clear case of false advertising. As another reviewer mentioned, one work around is to boil however much you need in a small amount of water. Instead of passing it through a sieve, I then just spooned out the non-seeded, non-fibrous part of the paste and added it directly into my sauce.Whatever you do, don't attempt to mash the product cold into submission as I initially attempted. Will Not Work. On the plus side, the flavor of this pulp is very good.
