Extremely informative
Really enjoyed this book! Straightforward, clear, concise and easy to follow with tangible directives and solid information. Some of the lingo went over my head as I’ve done little home building but I still learned quite a bit and the author really did their best (and a great job at that) to present the information for everyone. Highly recommend this book!

Great buy/Packed with info!
I'm very pleased with the degree of information that was provided in this somewhat small book. I have done quite a bit of research outside of this, and this book, just seem to fill in most of the unanswered questions that I've had. I would definitely recommend this book, and have already shared with anyone interested. I'm glad that I purchased it, so I can always refer back to it.

Poorly Written with Little Information
If you have literally no idea about anything to do with building you may like this book. I was hoping to really learn more about container homes but as soon as you flip past the cover the book goes down hill quickly. The first page has a huge grammatical error and there are many issues in the “instructions”. Don’t buy this book if you are looking for anything more than wikipedia. Great looking cover, but once again don’t judge a book by its cover.

Definitely worth a look if your at all into the Tiny house movement
Interesting ideas, from small to large budget it seems “tiny homes” made from shipping containers, yurts, trucks with campers, log cabins on wheels, and even treehouses is the new way to truly enjoy living in your home n not being typical or tied down! Plus there are so many many empty shipping containers all over the world. It’s a great use of recycling materials, as well as a way to not be “House poor”!

How did this get published?
I don't think the author has ever built anything. He describes building processes like it is baking a cake. As others have noted, there are grammatical errors, and there are a lot of things you can find on the internet for free. It uses floor plans that appear to be ripped off of some Nigerian's website. Most of the illustrations are of low quality. Would it have been too difficult to pay someone to do some decent drawings? The information ranges from very general, to the overly specific, such as using magnesium oxide wallboard, without any explanation of why. Seems like it was written just to cash in on all the current interest in container homes.

Money spent on garbage.
Disappointing book.No plans that serve to build, only examples of plants and without measures. All information is free on the internet. Money spent on garbage.

Garbage -- Don't waste your money/time
looks like it was made on someone's 1998 word processor. This is not a book that any publisher decided was a good idea. This is some dude in his garage that posted nonsense onto amazon, which then prints a copy anytime someone is duped into buying it with subtitles like "a complete guide..." It gives brilliant advice like, "You will need a permit to build a house." No author is listed, reads more like a B+ 10th grader's book report. Basically just took a google search for "shipping container" and turned it into a couple hundred bullet points bound together with blurry "plans" that show a couple boxes next to each other. God awful.

nice read
It was an interesting read. We have been discussing shipping container homes with my wife lately and our opinions turned out to vary. In fact, I see a big potential in these kinds of homes for investments considering new solar technologies on the market. Also, some people are willing to rent unusual homes for short-term and if you choose touristic enough places and make a really cool container home, it's going to be cheap, inspiring and awesome; and you can rent it out per day on airbnb, craigslist, etc... My wife doesn't agree. Of course, we need to calculate everything but this book was nice in terms of general information and various important details.
