Worth the effort
Despite the title, this most definitely is not for kids! The pieces are TINY and even having read other reviews, I was still shocked when I unpacked it and saw what I was working with. I wasn't sure it was even possible, but with time and plenty of patience, I am so stoked with the end result! I've had people not believe that I even made it until I showed them the instructions. I'm now addicted and have two others to get to work on. I'd say at a minimum you need good craft tweezers, craft knives, small sharp scissors and a couple different types of glue for this (I used fast bonding superglue, slower drying all purpose tacky glue and double sided tape.) Cocktail sticks were a godsend for dabbing glue onto tiny things, and a magnifying craft lamp was also a big help but not really essential. This kind of kit won't be for everyone, but if you have the patience and determination, it's such a sense of achievement at the end!

Lots of work to build it!!!
I bought this as a present for my nephew who loves miniature things. He is delighted but his mum (my sister) is a lot less happy!!!It’s absolutely tiny and you have to assemble everything from scratch, which isn’t immediately obvious from the pictures on amazon.Apparently the boys are fascinated by it and they come down in the morning and ask to see how far it’s got.It does look really good, but just be aware that there is a lot of assembly - my sister has spent 5 hours to get through the first page of instructions.

You need LR44 button batteries!
The only reason for 3 stars: The details say this needs AAA batteries, but it actually needs LR44 button batteries. Slightly annoying as I don't have those so had to order them, which is fine but just means a delay til they arrive and I can test the lights and fit them.Have just checked all the bags against the list in the booklet and everything else appears to be there. YES all the pieces are tiny! But that's the attraction of miniatures. I ordered craft tweezers and silicone glue as well- think you will also need a craft knife. Looking forward to assembling it.

Ill fitting pieces
Was so looking forward to starting this project but some of the pieces don't accurately fit. The side of the house and the roof are already cut out of wood but the angles don't fit as you can see in the pics.

Nice idea, make sure you have glue etc
Need your own glue tweezers etc to build, could be made clearer on product description, fun to make though, kept the wife quiet for a couple of hours....winner all round.
