I decided to buy this larger spray container as the smaller one which comes with the Wagner W690 I already had was only 800ml. I called Wagner technical support to check whether I could use the W690's 1800ml attachment for fence paint but they said it wasn't suitable for anything other than emulsion paint. The larger capacity of this attachment meant that I could paint about 5m of the fence before having to refill the container. I used Ronseal Fence Life Plus Shed & Fence Treatment diluted by around 15% water and stirred it with a paint mixer connected to my cordless drill. It didn't get clogged once, even though Wagner suggested using straight forward fence paint rather than Ducksback or similar waxy paints. My son and I got the job done in half an afternoon rather than 2-3 days it would have taken to paint the fence by hand. My only wish would have been to have an even larger container so that I didn't have to stop to refill so often, but for that I'd need a different sprayer. As it is, this is a must-have if you've got quite a large area to spray.

Great, additional accessory

I used the W100 sprayer for fence painting last year and certainly took less time to do the fencing, so having hand painted 8 wardrobe doors where I wasn't happy with the finish, decided to redo them and some furniture to match but this time by spraying. I'm a competent DIY'er who gets in a terrible mess, but do eventually get the job done lol. I decided I needed this finer spray gun to use with the W100 and yes, did get very messy but am happy with the final result. Firstly, I tented the garage with thin plastic decorator sheets and lots of masking tape, then sprayed furniture first, then four doors at a time. Overall, I had issues with the paint clogging the sprayer and had to water it down way more than I had anticipated. When it was right, the sprayer was easy to use with a good, quick coverage but when getting clogged, the spray got narrower and narrower so it was like colouring the doors with a felt tip pen - solution was to stop, wash everything out and start over - so messy and protracted in places but results are great. If I was doing a big job again I would buy two of the spray heads so I could just swop to a clean one and keep going. It's a quick method to use and as you don't have to wait for total drying between coats was a one time process for the most part - spray, move to next item, comeback to first and respray, move to next etc. Just ensure you don't overspray and if you do, you simply wipe off and start again! Will use again and might even buy the second when I convince hubby we need to do another big revamp!

Adds another level of visibility to an already excellent sprayer, just what you need for those small jobs where space may be an issue or you just don't want the hassle of mixing a large quantity of material.

Does exactly what its meant to do. I purchased an extra container as the paint disappears quickly (I have a lot of fencing). Only down side is the cable isn't that long and also the air tube could do with been longer.

Excellent for spraying small amounts of paint, and leaves a professional quality finish.

I bought this as a replacement front end for a damaged one on my W100 which I use solely for painting the fence in summer. The larger capacity cup is perfect for this job as the 800ml standard cup is too small to be any real use. The parcel arrived next day and slotted straight on, 52m of fencing painted that afternoon with time to spare.
