Blimey, things have certainly advanced over the years! Connecting an remote network camera used to be the domain of real coding wizards with having to open router ports etc to allow the remote access to function - but not any more with the Tapo Pan and Tilt Wifi camera. Installation is really simple and easy - install the Tapo app onto your phone, set up an account and select your camera model. Plug the camera into the supplied power adapter and select it from the app (temporarily using the camera's broadcast Wifi network). Installation done! The camera can be accessed from the app, remotely moved 360 degrees horizontally and moved up and down within a limited range (114 degrees), the image quality is excellent - I'm a photographer and have used all sorts of cameras over the years, but the Tado 2K QHD produces some really nice footage - you can certainly read car number plates and clearly see faces with no issue at all. Zooming on the 220 model is digital, but still very good quality and far better than expected. The night vision is ok but I set the infrared emitters to be off in the app, as they reflect really badly from the internal glass window behind which I've positioned my camera. The night video is still fine but at a slower frame rate than the stock 15FPS during the day. (this FPS can be increased with the app - but remember that higher FPS will result in your home broadband slowing down as the camera uploads the footage at a higher framerate/larger file size every time something triggers it to record) Really good camera, the price is amazing and the connectivity is spot on. Absolutely worth every penny and wholeheartedly recommend this product.

Purchased this pan/tilt camera after returning a similar ring pan/tilt camera. Camera is easy to use, images are clear and the pet/bark detection is especially useful as our primary use was to monitor our new dog. Operates as you would expect - excellently in normal lights low light functions admirably however it’s worth noting that there is no ir illumination. Human and pet detection - this was stated as in beta when we purchased however seems to work excellently, we have human detection off and pet detection on and get no false positives. Bark detection works like a treat. iPhone/Android app work well there is a little bit of lag on the pan / tilt over cellular but from WiFi it’s almost instant (couldn’t say that with the blink camera!!). No optical zoom but for the price who’s complaining!!!

I quite like Tapo gear and have used their power plugs (P100 & PP110) extensively as well as the C100 cameras which are small and neat. I mainly use the C100 cameras for pet detection in my home and needed a replacement with a bit more resolution, detail, night time quality and tracking (so I thought-see later!) to monitor my landing area. So, I noticed the C220 at a seemingly good price so bought 2 of them and I must say they seem to work exceptionally well and are a huge improvement over the C100, which has been out a few years, technology marches on etc. There is enough detail in the images that I have been able to place this C220 in a different location so it now covers half of the stairs, all of the landing and 3 of 4 bedroom doors etc. I initially set the camera for pet detection only with tracking which works exceptionally well BUT if the camera tracks a cat along the landing and into a bedroom and this cat then curls up, out of view, and stays there for 2 hours or more (not unusual) then the camera stays in that extreme left or right position, where it last tracked the animal, which could be 80° or 90° from its "home" position thereby totally missing any other activity on the main landing! I have had to turn tracking off of course. What the software needs is another variable something along the lines of "After X minutes of inactivity return to home position" which would need an ON/OFF setting plus a minutes input if turned ON! To be fair, if you installed one of these in the corner of a reasonably sized room then the tracking would probably cover most eventualities but in my case, a narrow-ish elongated rectangular area with several exits then it won't perform. So, good quality and value but does not quite fit my requirements so loses a star!

The camera has been a fantastic addition to my home security setup. The 2K resolution delivers crisp, clear video with excellent detail, making it easy to monitor every corner of the room. The pan and tilt function is super smooth and responsive, allowing me to remotely control the camera’s view with ease via the app. The WiFi connection is reliable and the setup process was straightforward, getting the camera up and running in minutes. I also really appreciate the smart features like motion detection and instant alerts, which give me peace of mind knowing I’ll be notified if anything unusual happens. The night vision is impressive too, providing clear footage even in low-light conditions. Another great feature is the ability to set privacy zones, allowing you to block out areas you don’t want monitored, which adds an extra layer of control and privacy. In conclusion the camera has great video quality, flexible control, and smart security features all at a very competitive price. Highly recommend for anyone wanting an affordable but powerful indoor camera.

I was a little nervous/sceptical of this camera - how good could it be for the price? Well, the answer is very good, very good indeed! Great quality images, really good night vision, pan/tilt function worked really well too. App was easy to work too which is a bonus. No lag, sound quality good both in terms of recording and when speaking through it, which is fun to freak people out. Also worth noting once the app is installed and working, it automatically seems to start your 'free trial' of recordings and access to them etc. And then it lets you know when it's up and you either need to set-up payments or just use a SD card. So the only thing to consider is that this one is wired, and whilst the wire is long, that does limit its potential uses. But I guess that's why it's the great price it is. For indoor use, it's amazing.

I bought this because I have a Tapo doorbell which I like, and knew I could add cameras to the hub and the app. This took 5 mins to set up via WiFi to the hub. I originally bought it to spy on my cat, but decided to use it to show me my back garden. And discovered I’m visited by a fox every night! The picture quality is excellent both day and night and the app is easy to use. I had a minor issue with it, so emailed Tapo. They replied immediately and helped me to sort it out. (Thanks Cherry) An excellent product at a reasonable price.

A fantastic little camera with superb picture quality. Compact, quiet when in motion, quick to connect and responsive when controlled remotely, it does everything I need it to. The power cable is a decent length and it comes with a mounting bracket so you can mount to a wall or ceiling if you wish. Tapo devices are incredibly easy to set up and over time I’ve added to my collection of devices which are all still working perfectly. I love the way I can schedule events easily from the app such as automating lights and controlling sockets. Another benefit is the fact you can share a connection to a device with another person without having to log into your own account on their mobile device. Great if you want to have more than one person able to access a Tapo doorbell camera but don’t want them to have full access to your account, for example.

Easy to set up and use in the accompanying app, once you get used to the noise of the motor as it pans and swivels to follow its subject (it can be used statically and silently as well), this great little camera sits quietly in its corner, doing its thing. Good value and hassle free so far, I’d recommend it for any indoor applications. I bought ours for monitoring our new rescue dog when we had to occasionally leave her with our resident dog (especially as I could use the voice function as well) but given their favourite pastime almost instantly became curling up on the couch together, it has now been relegated to bird watching at the feeder hanging outside our conservatory 😁 Definitely recommended, excellent on all fronts.
