Alone Against the Static

Update: 4/18/25 Its been all most a year since buying this book...Its still great ! Once you learn the shortcuts to get too good jumping off points, you are find all the outcomes and some really cool hidden things.This solo adventure has been very good ! I have had one play through and it was terrifyingly fun ! I have and have played all the chaosium solo adventures, against the static has made its way to the top of the reply list. I’m going to play alone against the flames again, finish against the dark and against the frost and immediately reply all options in against the static.

My partner had gotten a copy of the book and we tried to have a light-hearted, funny play through. But WOW it got deep and unnerving! The horrors are real, and reminded me of the Appalachian cryptids in my back yard! Definitely recommend playing with a partner, so you don't get swallowed up by your own mind.

So far so good except that there are a million misprints. Takes you out of the flow. Hard to believe that this was proofread.

I'll never know whether this is good solo adventure or not. The publisher used such a ridiculously thin and insubstantial font that it's basically unreadable to me without a magnifying glass.
