Tastes Great, Gets My Teeth Clean and White
LOVE!My favorite toothpaste. I like their other flavors too, but this one the best. (Their mouthwash is great. Its expensive, but a little goes a long way.) The licorice is the best and it does whiten a bit. It tastes great, too. My only wish is that it would come in a larger size. the picture is deceiving. the tube is really small, like a travel size.

There's no such thing as Red Licorice...
Okay, for those of you that love the flavor of black licorice, like me, then this is for you.. If you think Red Licorice, or watermelon, lime, green apple and other flavors are "Licorice" than this probably isn't for you..But this Marvis licorice flavored toothpaste is really fresh. It foams up nicely, but not too much, and the flavor is great. You can tell the quality is there and it makes your mouth wake up. Very nice. A bit expensive but one of the larger tubes will last you a long time, and about the cost of 2 cups of lousy coffee from you know who..It's worth it.

Great Product - Poor Amazon Delivery Packaging
I LOVE this high quality Marvis Amarilli Licorice toothpaste but Amazon puts most everything like this in paper type delivery bags that absolutely DO NOT protect these products from being crushed along the way of delivery. Very frustrating. Either that or Amazon puts glass mouthwash bottles in a box with no or very little packing paper so the glass bottle rolls around in the box coming apart as it did for me when I purchased Marvis mouthwash from them! I had to call and get refunded. I only gave the product 4 stars due to the Amazon packing issues. Of note: I called Amazon personally to let them know that the envelope they used did not protect the toothpaste which isn’t cheap to purchase. I can’t get this product in Vermont. It is worth the price as it makes brushing my teeth a true joy as it tastes amazing and doesn’t irritate my mouth like some toothpastes do. They refunded me the price which was very fair as it is made in Italy and they use high quality Amarelli Licorice. If you like or love Licorice you will adore this!

Delicious, effective, TOO expensive!
I grew up using Marvis in Europe - and I like licorice, so I went looking for it on Amazon - found it. BUT th little tube is really little - and it is expensive for what one receives. Great product - one just has to not use too much paste at each brushing - otherwise brushing my teeth will lead me to bankruptcy!

MARVIS AMARELLI LICORICE TOOTHPASTE
I have loved this toothpaste since my son brought me some back from Italy. He picked some up in Italy on one of his trips out of need while he was there. Once he tried it, he knew he had to get some for me too. I'm so glad that I was able to get some here. It's a lovely licorice flavor that leaves a nice taste in your mouth. It does its job well and leaves you with sparkling white teeth.

might be responsible for heightened teeth sensitivity
I do not have great teeth.I have had a lot of root canals and plenty of cavities. My teeth are soft and in general have been the bane of my life, though I am lucky that I still have all of them. I recently switched to more natural products not for any particular reason- curiosity- and found that Tom's of Maine and similar toothpastes treated my teeth well. In for a penny, in for a pound- I thought I'd give Marvis a try.First things first, this toothpaste tastes delightful. It's a vaguely licorice flavor- not too strong like black jelly beans but definitely in that wheelhouse. It doesn't feel gritty in your mouth and brushes on very smooth. There's some minor amount of foaming, definitely less than with say a crest product but a little foam says 'working' to me, so it's not like I'm docking it points. The tube is made of plastic, which might aggravate some eco-concious buyers but was a relief for me, since metal tubes of paste products tend to buckle, bend, and tear at the corners resulting in sharp edges. Like other reviews, I'll note there wasn't a safety seal on my toothpaste. Since that seems to be a choice on the part of the brand, I wasn't too concerned. The reason why I'm giving this toothpaste only three stars is that once I started using it, my tooth sensitivity went through the roof. I've always had teeth that were hot-cold sensitive but suddenly the tops of ALL of my teeth were reacting to the slightest stimulus, not just my front teeth (the usual offenders since they meet all food and drink headed my way before all the other teeth in my mouth.)I ceased brushing with Marvis and moved back to a basic crest product and the teeth sensitivity calmed down, though it does remain. I have no proof that it was the toothpaste (I started a more natural mouthwash around this time, and that could be the culprit) but dealing with aching teeth is no joke and I want to be sure other consumers know that heightened tooth sensitivity could be a side effect of this product.
