Already cracked!!!
Just bought 4 months ago. Winter isn't even over and now they leak. Too much money for disposable boots. Sorel shouldn't put their name on these if they aren't going to last. Very disappointed!

Sizing Advice on these Sorel Snow Boots
People seem to be polarized on how to choose the correct size of these Sorel snow boots. Some say to go up a 1/2 size, others say to go up a full size or more, and others say to go with your typical size. Whose advice do you take? There is so much variability in sizing between brands, that it is frustrating. Yes, you can measure your foot and then check out their sizing chart, but I've seen that go wrong as well. So here's a data point that may help some of you: I wear 10.5 in Rockport, 10.5 in Timberland, 11 in Steve Madden, 11 in Puma, and 11.5 in Asics. Asics definitely run small, so 11 is probably my "actual size" (if there is such a thing in footwear). Because Amazon will let you return these boots, I figured it was worth a shot. I decided to go up a 1/2 size, so I bought an 11.5. When the boots arrived, I was happy to discover that they weren't as small as some had stated in the older reviews. Perhaps Sorel listened and subsequently tweaked the sizes a bit? My toes are approximately a 1/4" from the end, so they are just about perfect, maybe a hair short, but definitely livable (especially since the 11.5's had dropped to a bargain $37 just before I ordered them). I considered going up to the 12's since I anticipate I'll probably use thick socks, but they were more than double the price at that moment in time. I have about a 1/4" of room at my toes with all of my Asics, so these Sorel boots seem to be sized similar to Asics, if that will help. Since it's still the middle of the steamy summer, I haven't been able to test them in the snow, but this is a good time to find winter bargains. Initial impression is they are very good quality, and they seem comfortable as I trundle around the house in them. I was impressed with their temperature rating, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they perform in the dead of winter (future update ahead). What I especially like is that these boots are not big & chunky. You can actually drive a car with them on unlike some of the big snow boots that you would wear to go snowmobiling etc. I wouldn't take a risk at full price, but keep watching the price for the size you think you'll need, and be ready to jump on them when they hit your price point.Update 12/20: I’ve now used these boots in the snow and cold, and I highly recommend them. They have good traction and keep your feet toasty warm, even with a single layer of socks.

Poor quality, with boots cracking on the rubber parts.
The fit was perfect but the quality is very poor. I’ve worn them a handful of times and both boots are now cracking and letting snow, water and the cold through letting my feet get cold and wet. There were no way of returning even though it describe free returns.

Decent boots that are true to fit and can be worn with regular socks.
SOREL Men's Cheyanne II Snow Boot, Chipmunk, Sizes 12I wear a sizes 11.5 normally.Based on many comments, I ordered Sizes 12. Arrived within a week. The boots fit but it was slightly bigger even when using orthotics and thick wool socks. I had about 2 thumbs width on top of my toes and my feet kept sliding slightly back and forth in the boots even though the ankle was kept snug. There was too much room. Now imagine wearing a regular pair of socks? Had to return it.Bought another pair from another vendor, size 11.5, and it was a much better fit. It's relatively tighter wearing thick wool socks but didn't really have to since the boot is somewhat insulated. Wear regular socks. It felt snug and needed time to break in as the rubber bottom portion was a bit stiff. Otherwise, the boot is true to sizes. If you want a more roomier fit and most likely will expect to wear during winter, you can consider buying 1/2 size up.Since it's insulated in the entire inner boot, which probably accounts for the tighter fit, you may wear regular socks or thinner wool socks and wear it from autumn, winter and spring. I chose the latter since you can wear it for 3 seasons instead of 1.The boot is supposed to be insulated in the entire boot.Update:Boots broke in relatively well. Use a shoe stretcher to help break it in and stretch the boots.Keep the rubber oiled and moisturized to help keep it waterproof and prevent cracking from dryness.Recommend wearing wool or fleece socks as your toes will get cold despite the light insulation. When conditions gets icy, wear ice crampons as the boots won't have any grip.

Cracked open!!!
One would like to think this pair was defective given Sorel's reputation. However they were delivered February 5th, come end of March, end of shoes... Three weeks after the return window closed!!!

Do NOT go a full size up.
I don’t know why so many people are suggesting to go a full size up from your normal? You’ll be fine with true to size if you don’t have extremly wide feet. I have bigger feet myself so I decided to go down the middle and just do a half size up and I wish I hadn’t. These boots are well insulated and there is no need for thick socks unless you live in Alaska. Once these boots have broken in they will have a hard time not slipping off your feet if you sized up. The boots themselves are ok. Materials seem good and the look is nice. The sizing issue is just one of the things that sucks about buying online. I thought with so many people suggesting to size up that it might be wise but these people must be the extreme case of big feet or have no idea how boots work. You’ll regret going a full size up as I did only going a half size up. They’ll do for now though.

Order one full-size bigger than you normally wear
The boot is well made but to small and seems narrow, I read the reviews and they all stated that the boots ran small I ordered a half size larger than I normally would and it was too small I would recommend ordering a full-size and if you have wide feet the D size probably will not feel comfortable for you I seem to remember so well being manufactured in Canada perhaps they’ve moved ther I read the reviews and they all stated that the boots ran small I ordered half size larger than I normally would and it was too small I would recommend ordering a full-size if you have wide feet the D size probably will not feel comfortable for you. I have a pair of sorrel boot s that are at least 15 years old and do not remember them running this small.

Worth Every Penny..... Woh!!!! but wait a minute ...short lived! See update
Brilliant. I'm a daily dog walker and hate wearing wellies as i find them uncomfortable. These are boots that claim to be waterproof and amazingly ....are waterproof!! Hurrah. I've spent a small fortune (sorry large fortune) over the years on boots where the manufacturer claims they are waterproof, only to find I get sopping wet socks just by walking through a bit of early morning dew on the grass. However these bad boys from Sorel are proper waterproof through and through. Puddles, boggy grass, torrential rain..... nothing get through to my delicate tootsies. What's more they're comfortable, warm and a size 9 fits my size 9 feet like a glove. I like them so much that I've already purchased a second pair......just in case they're discontinued when I need to replace them. OH Joy!Update December 2020. Disappointingly after just a few weeks of wearing them for dog walking (approx an hour a day), as another reviewer also experienced, both boots have developed a split across the top. These splits let in water like a sieve, even when just walking on wet grass. So I'm having to reduce my rating from 5 to 2 stars. More money down the drain.

Sizing much smaller than previous Cheyenne boots
I'm the proud owner of a pair of the original Cheyenne boots - which after several seasons' of wear needed replacing.I loved the original Cheyenne boots so much that I bought these Cheyenne IIs without even considering other products. And when I received them, I threw the box and labels away without even trying the shoes on, knowing that they would fit well.BIG MISTAKEThe sizing of these shoes is completely different from the previous Cheyenne boots - the sole of the Cheyenne II is a massive 7mm shorter (heel to toe) vs the original Cheyennes - and are too small to fit comfortably.Size up, and try the shoes on before you take labels off / throw away the packaging.

Beast from the east!
Wore these today for first time since purchasingNoticed 2 issues- The right shoe feels strange almost like I'm wearing 2 left shoes, never experienced this before on any other shoe, forces your ankle to not be straight- The left shoe makes a sticky noise on the sole every time you take a step, shoe not glued together properly.Price has also decreased since my purchase .Oh well. Probably wont need to use them much anyway

Defective boot, dreadful customer service
Bought in October, rubber splitting by November. Seemed a great boot but not well made enough to last. Amazon refuse to replace, refund only. I would recommend you avoid both this boot and (based on my experience trying to change a defective item) buying it from Amazon

Warm but tiny sized
Really tiny fit - I had read reviews that said this but didnt expect so small! I'm a women's UK 7/EU 40 which is usually a men's 6. I sized up to 6.5 to accomodate smaller sizing, but still toes touched the end. Didn't want to go up another size as then they would be too bulky around the ankle.Seemed really comfy and warm though - just a shame about the size.
