Magnificent tool perfect for the maintenance of Montblanc 146 pens to disassemble the piston and the nib. It also works for other Montblanc models, but only for the nib.

Tool for taking apart the Majohn P136, it facilitates cleaning of the pen, or replacing the nib unit. The tool also works on the MB146 (1995-present) for removing the nib unit and the piston assy. It should probably work for the MB149 for removing the piston assy (not tested). I would suggest making the tool somehow larger, to facilitate handling. As this tool was shipped directly from China I was a little sceptical about the customs fees, everything went fine and was delivered to my doorstep (Belgium) without additional fees.

First off, I bought this for my Montblanc 146 (works for 149 as well since they share the same piston) and I was hoping that this would work for the nib as well, but it does not (6 & 12 - non-modern nib). The notches on the nib end of the wrench (the smaller side) are slightly too big, but are aligned at the 6 & 12 position instead of the modern 8 & 4 position, so one COULD file down the notches a bit, smooth them with some super fine sandpaper and it may just work. But at least I am able to clean the inside of my pen and flush it, which is a good start. Make sure to know and read your pen's warranty (Montblanc) BEFORE doing this, or you will void the warranty if it applies. Mine is vintage, so the warranty no longer applies.

I purchased the Majohn P136 disassembly tool to service my 1980s Montblanc 146. The piston had become quite stiff and required disassembly for an application of silicone grease. This tool worked perfectly for with my 146 and the piston is now functioning smoothly again. This tool was an excellent value.
