Exceptionally sharp, beautifully presented and built to perform
The SHAN ZU 16-piece knife set is an outstanding addition to any kitchen - comprehensive, well-balanced and designed with real attention to both performance and presentation. It offers a wide variety of blades, ensuring that the right knife is always on hand for any task, from everyday food preparation to more intricate work. Each knife feels well balanced in the hand, with just the right amount of weight for comfortable, controlled cutting. The high-carbon stainless steel blades are impressively sharp straight out of the box, making quick work of everything from vegetables to tougher cuts of meat. They maintain their edge well with regular care, and the included sharpener makes occasional maintenance simple. Cleaning is straightforward - they rinse easily and dry quickly. On one occasion, I accidentally ran them through the dishwasher after forgetting to properly secure the salt compartment, and a small amount of surface rust appeared. That experience reinforced the importance of handwashing, but it’s worth noting that the issue was entirely down to user error rather than any fault in the knives themselves. Visually, the set looks excellent. The sleek, modern design complements both traditional and contemporary kitchens, and the block provides an elegant storage solution that keeps everything neatly organised and within easy reach. Overall, this is a first-rate knife set that combines sharpness, balance and aesthetic appeal in equal measure. It’s ideal for both keen home cooks and those who simply appreciate high-quality, reliable tools in their kitchen.

Great knife for the price!
For the price, this is an outstanding knife, possibly the best value for money I’ve ever owned. I’ve been using it for over two years and it’s become my go-to for almost everything, replacing several of my other knives. The shape is what makes it so versatile, just last night I boned a lamb leg, finely sliced onions for pickling, and crushed and chopped garlic, all with this one knife. It holds an edge well too; I sharpened it once when I first bought it, and only once more since. A quick touch with the steel before each use keeps it performing beautifully. If I had one criticism, it’s that the blade is a little thicker than I’d like. That’s the only reason I’d consider upgrading. That said, it’s hard to find another knife with this shape and this level of quality for the money, or a lot more!

Really really sharp
I'm very happy with this purchase, I recently bought a rolling knife sharpener which makes sharpening knives really easy to do as the magnetic blocks holds the knife at the perfect angle with the choice of 20 or 15 degrees and then you grind both sides till its mirror sharp, but then though my knives were really sharp I wanted better knives - so I bought this set of 3 german steel knives, they have a good rockwell hardness rating (HRC) of 57 - japanese folded steel knives have the highest rating at 62 and keep their sharp edge for longer but these at 57 arent far off and the edge is advertised as 15 degrees so I know which angle to use when they do need sharpening which won't be for quite awhile, after using the chefs knife first time - when I cleaned the sharp edge it went straight through the washing up sponge as you can see by the picture - these are ultra sharp so be careful but look into getting a rolling knife sharpener too, there are cheaper ones out there and mine only cost £40, these knives are very well made and a joy to own making cooking much easier and slicing things like a swede a breeze (work smart not hard😉)

Exceptional quality and razor sharp
Expensive but exceptional quality which is why you pay the price you do for these. Would have given a 5 star but my chefs knife has a chip on the blades edge and can't send back as I only noticed once fully unpacked.

Good knives
I am very satisfied with the knife set. It is sharper than all the other knives and the handles are very sturdy and comfortable to hold securely.

This knife is very good, it's very sharp which is what you would expect from something like this. The size is perfect because it will easily fit in your drawer with your other cutlery, the blade is easy to clean and the handle is comfortable to hold. It's good quality and it's value for money, I would highly recommend this.
