>>> SOLO or GUY'S RAZOR TRIMMER
> Although this kind of razor trimmer has limited other uses, the main purpose is (in conjunction with scissors) is to trim relatively short (i.e., usually men's or boy's) hair.> I'm a guy. I leaned to cut my own hair 50 years ago. At about the same time I learned to use a razor trimmer mostly to thin out the sides, and minimize curls on the back of my head and neck. I've still got my 50-year old razor trimmer, but I wanted another to keep in my go-bag for travel.QUICK TRIM> For a quick trim (such as when you are traveling):--Brush or comb your hair from the sides of your head toward your nose. With scissors, cut any hair that reaches your eyes.--Brush the hair from the top of your head down over your ears, trim off any hair which touches your ears.--Repeat several times, eventually brushing from the back of your head up over your ears, and trim off any hair that touches our ears.--Thin the hair on the back of your head with the razor trimmer.--If necessary, thin the hair on the side of your head, above your ears, with the razor trimmer.--If you have a beard, thin it with the razor trimmer.--I mostly use the wide side with the deeper tines/teeth. Sometimes, i use the narrower side with the shallow tines/teeth (VERY CAREFULLY) to thin the hair above my ears, if having thinned that hair with the wide side was not enough.WAND-LIKE RAZOR TRIMMERS> I have also tried the "wand-like" razor trimmers -- but they do not work for me -- the teeth are too short. For me, trimming my own hair, the wand razor trimmers are uncontrollable (they cut too much too easily by accident). I suppose that you could hold a comb over a wand trimmer (rather like barbers once did with raw razor blades), but that kinda misses the point. Perhaps my wife could trim my hair with a wand-razor-trimmer -- but I like to trim my own hair.> I can understand women using a wand razor trimmer to sculpt a friend's long hair into layers, etc. But, I doubt that even a woman would find it easy to use a wand-razor-trimmer on her own hair.BLADES> The razor blades are double-edged, so when they get dull, you can turn them around and use the other edge, or after using both edge, install new double-edge razor blades (normally hard to find, but available on Amzn (search for "double-edge razor blades). To open the case, with the short side of the trimmer up, and the back side (with the sunken square and raised square box visible) slide the upper portion of the case to the right (you may need to pry with a small screw driver or pen knife to the right side of the raised square). As the case opens, the solid raised box shifts, relatively, to the left.COMPLAINTS> Another reviewer claimed that the plastic is too thin, and that the blades can come loose and cut you. That's incorrect -- it has nothing to do with the thickness of the housing. What happens is (especially after you've opened the case once), that the housing can slide apart on it's own. The solution is to put a small piece of any kind of tape over the raise square box, or on the edge of the housing, to keep it from accidentally opening.RECOMMENDATION> To avoid TSA nonsense, when flying always pack razor trimmers and pointy-scissors in your checked bag.

Great Performance, But Needs Some Refinement
I recently purchased the Le Salon K4358 New Hair Trimmer Razor Blades and I’m generally very pleased with the performance. The blades are sharp and provide a smooth, clean trim without tugging on the hair, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The design is sleek, and the blades seem durable enough to handle regular use without dulling quickly. I’ve used them several times now, and I’ve noticed they work well on both thick and fine hair, which is a big plus for me.However, there’s a small issue that prevents me from giving a full five stars. The blade replacement process can be a bit tricky, and it takes some effort to get them securely in place. I wish the installation instructions were a bit clearer or that the blades locked in more easily. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall performance is top-notch, and I would still recommend them for anyone looking for a high-quality trimmer blade replacement.

This Device Came With A Deformed Blade.
I feel fortunate that I didn't put a deep cut through my finger with this device. Upon opening this Le Salon Hair Trimmer, I was struck by the strange appearance of one of the blades. The blade seemed to be partially separated, as if it hadn't been fully formed. The separated part had a smooth curve to it, rather than a straight or jagged edge, and this division or cut separated part of the two sides of the blade (see photos). The curve made it seem as if the blade hadn't been fully formed during the manufacturing process. If I hadn't been paying close attention upon opening, I could have seriously injured myself with this device.Even if the blade had been intact, this hair trimmer would have proved to have been unsatisfactory. I purchased this trimmer, because it looked identical to the same trimmer that I had been using successfully for over twenty years. When some of the teeth finally gave way, I was looking for a replacement, and saw this. After reading some of the reviews here, I was a bit leery about the quality, based on comments about thin, flimsy plastic, and so on. After receiving the trimmer, I found that the negative reviews were indeed true. Other than in outer appearance, this trimmer is nothing like the one I've been using. The plastic body is flimsy and thin, the small plastic nubs inside that are meant to hold the blades in place are too small in circumference to do so; the blades shift and move dangerously, in my opinion, inside the cutter. The manufacturing tolerances for the plastic parts are inexact. On my original cutter, the round nubs securely hold the blades in place; in fact, there is a small click upon securing the blades to the body. With this cutter, the sliding catch does not work smoothly, and takes some finesse to be made to slide properly. On the original, the slide opens and closes smoothly and securely.Because of these problems, and with the near-disaster that I experienced, I feel that this hair trimmer is too dangerous to be sold on the marketplace. Please be careful, and use with caution - if at all.
