This provides better reception for us than leaf antennas.
We use ours indoors. It is bulky, but very easy to set up. So far it has improved our reception considerably. We don't have a good line-of-sight to the local transmission towers, but so far we have had very little pixelation and have not had to rescan the channels.

Works Really Well Despite Lots Of Drawbacks
I've bought a lot of different indoor antennas throughout the years. Now that cable/satellite tv is pretty much dead, getting network tv over the air is very much a thing again. The Bad: It's *very* cheaply made, thin plastic, crappy connectors, horrible instructions, very much a "China Special". It's also kind of an eye sore, even for me who is not that picky about such things. It's alsothe only indoor antenna that I've had (and I've had probably a dozen) to *not* include a coax cable *slaps head* aye aye aye. So don't forget to buy a nice long coax cable if you buy this! The Good: Despite all the drawbacks (and there are a lot of drawbacks!), without even really having to move it around and try to optimize, I plopped it down on the top of a tall bookshelf, scanned, and get all the network channels crystal clear! (plus the usual riff raff of tons of other secondary channels, most of which I'll never watch). That was certainly not the case of the last few antennas I tried, and those were powered and this is not! Go figure! So I'm happy with it.

First one I've found that works even in the flight path
We live about 20 minutes from a major airport, and we're in the flight path. We also live on a busy alley. We cannot put an antenna on our roof, and with the design of our house, the attic doesn't work either. We've tried several antennas. When airplanes fly overhead or cars drive by, the picture gets very pixelated and sometimes goes away altogether. It's been frustrating. I googled a lot to try to find one that isn't affected by these things but had no luck.I looked at this one because 1) it's an entirely different shape, 2) it gets great reviews, and 3) it has free returns. Given our experience with the other antennas, I wasn't expecting much, so free returns were important. We don't have great options for where to set antennas. I know height is important but we don't have a way to make it higher. It is currently near a window but on the floor by the TV.First impression was this was nice quality! And very easy to put together. (Note: it doesn't come with coaxial cable, but I had one on hand.)When we first tuned it, we got an extra five channels. (Update: we re-tuned it and now have 13 extra channels!) That surprised me, because we already get a lot of channels. It wasn't that important to me to have more channels, but it's still nice. The picture is also clearer, which also surprised me because I was happy with the quality of the picture using other antennas. The best part though is it works even with interference! We can watch tv with cars driving by and planes flying overhead. Occasionally we will get a few pixels from low flying planes, but nothing that disturbs our viewing. After trying several other antennas, I never expected to find one that actually works for our situation! I am very delighted and highly, highly recommend this.

Not For My Application
I know these are popular and work well for a lot of people, it just didn’t work for me in my application. First off the build quality is very good with the exception of the VHF Dipoles. They use U shaped brackets and a screw to secure them to the antenna body and I just never liked the way the screws felt when tightening and loosening them. A stud fixed to the body of the antenna in conjunction with a bracket and wing nut would have been better in my opinion. However, once they are locked into their horizontal spots they are not loose and do not move. I put this on my existing Dish Network J-Pole that is lagged into the header board on the back corner of my house. I was able to turn it in all directions if needed for adjustment. In the picture included you’ll see my existing antenna, it is the Philips Rabbit Ears Antenna (SDV8201B/27). I have it folded up and sitting on the top window pane in a living room window at the front of the house. This goes directly into a two way splitter, one of those goes into the living room tv right there with a 4’ piece of RG-6. The other one is connected to the previously used RG-6 cable run used for the Dish Hopper, this penetrates the outside of the house in our coat closest, runs along the side of the house around the corner and all the way to the back of the main bedroom portion of the house. Probably about 45 feet of RG-6. This used to go into the “Single Node” where the Dish Network Satellite feed came into along with the two Joeys we had. I replaced that Single Node with an identical two way splitter that I used inside the house. So the 45 foot RG-6 coming from the splitter inside the house is now the input into the two way splitter I installed in place of the Single Node, both of those outputs on the splitter feed the other two bedrooms. All three rooms have identical tv’s, 65” in the living room and 55” TV’s in each bedroom, all are Hisense UK7. With this setup and the Philips indoor antenna my Nextgen tv signal for the locals is 46. With the ClearStream 2MAX I was using an Extreme Broadband balanced three way splitter to feed all three TV’s and that dropped total signal to the living room tv to 19. This is actually fine for those Nextgen ATSC 3.0 CHANNELS as they don’t require as strong of a signal as the ATSC 1.0 CHANNELS do. The problem is everything else, the sub-channels for Fox which are VHF never did come in reliably and I had issues maintaining enough signal on UHF 20, 50 and the Nextgen stations at the same time. The ClearStream install adds about 50 feet of RG-6 to the equation (The distance to the J-Mount) and the aforementioned 3 way splitter. Of course in the Philips indoor Antenna installed we have 2-2-way splitters. So I’m not sure if the additional RG-6 is the cause of the issue or not, but either way I did not want to install a pre-amp so that limits my options. I ended up putting it back the way it was and all the channels are back with a strong, watchable signal. I’m not trying to steer anyone away from this Antenna, I think it is a quality item, it just didn’t work in my particular application.

Astounding receptivity at 35 miles and no amplifier
Probably closer to 4.8 stars, because it does not come with any coax cable. However, the astounding ability to pull in channels is amazing. I'm using it inside my house on top of a 5-ft bookcase connected to my TCL TV. I am more than 35 miles from the TV transmission towers, and I'm getting many channels I didn't even know existed! And there's no amplifier in the loop. Truly amazing. I hope it keeps working.
