I was looking for a good smoky paprika for use in goulashes and tomato based sauces. This brand delivered on its promise. I bought two tins and it turned out to be very cost-effective and delicious.

Smoky and rich, this will enrich your dishes with that unmistakable taste of Spain without the spicy, prickly heat. I am so chuffed to have discovered this on Amazon, and at what an affordable price. I don't regret buying this in bulk, for it will see me through a good few dinners. I've already used a good heaping, fat tablespoon but it's hardly made a dent. This is good economy, and a little goes so far, though you must restrain yourself: the aroma is intoxicating and temptation great. A dish only requires a few teaspoons at most. I'm not familiar with El Avion and it's impressed. The tins are kitsch, how can you resist? I've so far survived on a supermarket's premium brand of smoked paprika but in far less novel packaging; I'm not going back. It's far nicer to open you larder and see something so Spanish. This is an essential for Spanish food, and often my preferred choice in lieu of paprika, Spanish cuisine or not.

It took a half hour to open (my husband eventually did it with pliers) but, that aside, this smoky deep flavour transforms all sorts of dishes, from chilli con carne to seafood.

This is my second batch of this wonderful, smoked paprika and it certainly won't be my last, as I use it in a wide variety of dishes, from BBQ pulled pork to authentic Spanish paella dishes - it's just so versatile! This particular brand of paprika is an authentic Spanish product. It is very smooth and not at all powdery (as many of the equivalent products stocked in British supermarkets are) and it has an authentic woody smokiness will delight your diners. This is by far the best smoked paprika that I have found in over twenty-five years, including my time as a professional chef. If you want a smooth, flavoursome and aromatic paprika, which brings a sense of Spain, right into your kitchen, then purchase this without hesitation!
