Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwashing Powder, Free & Clear, 45 oz

This works great without having a scent. My wife is very sensitive to smells that can trigger migraines and this passes the test. I'm also kind of anal about dishwasher smells and keeping our dishwasher clean and it does a good job. I've definitely used worse dish detergent that was more expensive. We liked it so much webought a 12-pack that will probably be like a 3 year supply 😬. Hopefully it stores well!

Excellent product. I can put a little of the powder on the door in addition to putting it in the time-release tray, and my dishes come out clean and without any additional residue I need to wash off. My favorite dish detergent, is on the healthier side with the natural ingredients and does the job as well as I previously used cascade. No residue is left over and dissolves really well. Couldn’t be happier

I've been using this product for several years, and it cleans my dishes beautifully. I would have given a 5 star rating, but the price was a bit high. Also, I will be much more likely to buy from this vendor again if the larger size is made available and its price reflects a volume discount.

Cleans dishes

I have tried expensive toxic detergents and they do not even work. On top of that they smell horrible and leave a chemical taste on the dishes. This stuff is amazing. I don’t need a rinse aide, and it works better than any other dishwasher detergent I have ever tried. Plus, it doesn’t smell like anything and doesn’t leave a smell or taste on the dishes. When I run out of this I just hand wash all my dishes because I end up re-washing half of them anyway when I have to use anything else.

Being on well water, it's really hard to find dishwasher products that work effectively and are safe for septic systems. Although our well water is delicious (no iron taste) it's still hard and wreaks havoc on glass and plastic ware (we do not have a water softener yet). This product seems to focus on softening the water without harsh chemicals in order to get the dishes clean which is EXACTLY what was needed here. I use a rinse agent and do not use the heat option to dry the dishes and this works really well. Our dishwasher is a simple GE unit that came with the 1.5 year old house. I suspect once we upgrade the unit, results will improve even more. Now the liquid dish soap (for the hand wash items) is a different matter. I'm not impressed with that version of this product. At any rate, I will continue to use this and recommend it to anyone with hard water issues.

First, let me be clear that I really like Seventh Generation Dishwashing Powder. It works well and I've been using it a while. I highly recommend it. What I don't recommend is buying it through this seller, which is not "Seventh Generation," as the description would lead you to believe - it's Sam's Club. I disagree with WalMart policies and business practices, so I never knowingly shop there or at Sam's. I was disappointed when the shipping receipt indicated it was from Sam's. Even worse, the box leaked all over the place! There was powder coming out from the outside shipping box and got everywhere - all over my floor, counter, etc. When I opened it, I discovered the glue had failed on both boxes of SG Dish Powder - one one, it was just the top seam, on the other, it was both the top AND bottom seams that had come apart. Worse still was the fact that they were placed together into a plastic bag which caught several loads worth of powder, but made me realize they were leaking like this when packaged for shipping! Someone knowingly put two opened, leaking boxes of DW powder in a bag and sent them on their way. The bag itself wasn't leaking, so the powder in the outside shipping box came from before they were placed in the bag. I taped up the boxes and will still use them, though I'm sure I'm not getting the number of loads I should out of them. But rest assured, I'm definitely NOT buying this powder again via Amazon, unless I can be sure it's not Sam's Club shipping it.

I have a small countertop dishwasher and the Seventh Generation Dishwashing pods worked great, but seemed to be too concentrated, since they're meant for a normal sized dishwasher. I noticed some etching on my glasses and the graphics on some mugs wore off. This powder is more gentle, but still cleans great and I'm able to use less when the load isn't as dirty.

I was looking for more natural products with no strong scent, and I am very happy I was recommended this product. I chose the box type because I can adjust the amount this way. I usually wash half loads. Previously I was using cascade pods, but sometimes I feel my dishes are covered with a thin layer of soap with a strong scent on the dishes. This product does not leave a scent and washes perfectly.

This is my go-to laundry detergent. My machine is old so I think that's partly to blame, but the powder doesn't always dissolve fully and I have noticed streaks (mostly when I use too much powder). I'm still trying to balance everything just right (I'm finding a "heavy" wash so that there is more water to dissolve the powder with a standard amount of detergent is working best). All in all, I think this detergent is great, but not perfect. I have only used it on the one machine so it makes me think it would work better in one that isn't super old.
