Fun game, excellent quality starter
Star Wars Destiny is great; certainly one of the best Star Wars card games of the many released over the years. The cards look fantastic, and they've incorporated the dice in a really unique way to make them collectible and a skill-testing, rather than purely random part of the game. The Luke starter is a really good quality. Unlike starter decks in many games, you get plenty of iconic characters: Luke (with two dice, or "elite"), Han, R2-D2, and the Falcon, and in strong, playable format, rather than poor "starter deck" versions. The "Heirloom Lightsaber" card is also really powerful: on the secondary market, the cost is only a buck or two less than you'll pay for this entire starter. There's a little "getcha": to make Han a two-dice "elite" or to get second copies of some of the really good starter deck cards, you'll need to pick up a second starter. But to begin playing and learning the game, you can get by with just this and the complimentary Boba Fett starter, and to get a full 30-card playable deck of reasonable strength, you can pick up a second starter or just a handful of booster packs.

Worth it
This is one of the best starter sets because of the value of Boba Fett alone

Good starting point.
The cards in here are decent.

Luke Starter is Great
I have both the Luke and the Boba Fett starters and love them both. If you want elite Han Solo you'll have to get two luke starters. I actually like the luke starter a little bit better. It has fun cards but like the other 3 starters and the two player game they don't give you enough cards for a full 30 card deck. You'll have to buy some booster packs or some lots on ebay to add to your collection. On their own buying any two starters (or the two payer game) is a great way to introduce someone to the game, even without having a full 30 card deck.

Vicious payment scheme
I got this game super discounted from a different online retailer. I know that this living card game is dead so in a way that's good, because it means everything that will be made for it is already made. I never played any sort of game like this and I was interested in a Star Wars game with low complexity and low play time. So I decided to try this game out.My impressions, as someone who has never played this sort of game before, is that it was fun, quick, and had some strategy. I like the artwork. My husband likes to think his turns out a lot more and enjoys the Star Wars themes more than me and he's really the one I was looking for a Star Wars game for. I was pleased that he wanted to play this game multiple times in one day.At first, the game looks complicated because there are a lot of symbols. Thankfully, there is a reference card provided so you can review it. After a play, the game comes together and it is not that difficult to play. What I DID NOT LIKE, was the scheme to buy this game. It is bloody awful!1. Each player needs at least 1 started deck each. So My husband had Luke Skywalker and I had Boba Fett.2. You can play with just starter sets, but according to the rules, the maximum character points is 30 - so you would add Luke and Hans and it needs to be 30 or less. You cannot get to 30 with the starter deck. Then you need a deck of 30 cards in addition to the characters. You can't get to this with just the Starter decks. You need booster packs. I understood this prior to buying.3. I bought 3 booster packs thinking I would have enough cards somehow. That didn't work, because If you choose a starting character who is a villain (red), then other characters and cards in your deck cannot be hero cards; they can be villain or neutral (gray) cards. If your other character is rogue and also a villain(yellow) you can also add yellow cards in addition to red and neutral cards. Someone online recommended 6 booster packs and I think that is a little bit better. You could play with less cards in your deck as long as the other player played with the same number of cards. We are not going to playing in competitions and are just interested in playing the game so it worked - we each had our two characters (none equalling 30 points) and 19 cards in our deck.4. If you're late to the game, know that this game is finished. So eventually stock is going to run out and buying cards for this game I expect will become more expensive, because it will go into collectors mode. On the other hand, people might think the game is not worth playing anymore and move on to the next game - because there is always another game on the horizon - and sell the game for cheap. In short, if you're just getting into this, know that to expand your collection, you'll have to go to the second hand market soon. Asmodee just sold out all their stock and other game stores like Miniature Market are having 60% off sales to get rid of stock.5. This is a vicious payment scheme - First, boosters which may have duplicates (you can have up to 3 duplicates in your deck and none of them are the main characters), but some cards require other cards that may or may not be available, for example one card required Ewok cards to be of any use. Otherwise, it was a dead card. That means, I would have to buy a ton of booster cards to find an Ewok card. One Ewok card required 4 Ewoks! UGHHHH I really like Ewoks, but this is crazy! This company also "retired" a deck, then started selling another deck with basically the same stuff, but maybe a little bit of different formatting or no changes at all, and then the company claimed it was "illegal" to play with these cards in what I'm assuming are officially run games. Um. Can you say money grab? Then, after all this they killed off the game - licensing? I don't know how these things work but from the outside looking in, this looks sketchy. This whole scheme is lame and consumer-unfriendly.The game is kind of thematic...but I thought it was mostly abstract and I really just looked for symbols and did arithmetic for my gameplay. Maybe if I really play this game the mechanics and theme will come out more. It's there, but then stuff doesn't really go together. I played Star Trek Missions, which is a standalone card game and for me, the theme came out in the cards and how the cards were stronger when paired with other cards matching the theme. I didn't really feel the theme come through in this game as much.I liked rolling the dice and I do like the fun of ripping open a pack and seeing who is inside. And then being disappointed when I get crap cards.I would NOT recommend this game for people who have not played before, because 1) increasing costs 2) no more support because it's a dead game 3) there are other thematic Star Wars games out there worth your time.I would recommend this game if 1) The price is good 2) You want a short and simple Star Wars-themed game.

Great starter deck - perfect for Fett fans! Buy singles, avoid boosters.
For people who hate the blind booster packs and not knowing what you are going to get (then having to find it again for elite version), these starter sets are fantastic, great upgrades, double dice characters and cards. Boba Fett is an awesome character and is no different in Destiny. All you need to do is buy some singles to spice the deck up and you have a fun deck that will hold it's own. Have had a lot of fun pairing him with Jango Fett and blasting opponents, but remember....no disintegrations this time! With the Mandolorian soon releasing, you can stock up on Mando cards and make a thematic Mando/Bounty Hunter deck like I did with Jango, which is half the fun in Destiny. This is a mechanically fantastic game, classic FFG where you sharpen existing games like MTG and make them better. But MAN if it weren't for buying Singles I would have dropped this ages ago, buying random boosters is a crazed semi gambler state then having to do it once more for a elite character (find it twice) is excruciating. I'd appreciate a LCG format much more. It's why I love the Drafts, Starter decks and singles, I actually know what I am buying rather than wasting my money, blind boosters are a kid's game and have no place in a tactical/strategy card game like this, it belittles the game which is unfortunate as it plays REALLY well.
