I was sent a used mat. It needed a good hoover and even had a shard of glass in there. Not impressed.

This rug works great with Velcro. The kick pad from my e-drum kit has Velcro on the bottom and the connection it makes with the rug is very strong. If the Velcro on your kick pad is also strong, the kick pad won't move at all even if you remove the spikes.About the sound isolation:Sound isolation/noise isolation is not something you should buy this drum mad for. However, if you are, I strongly encourage to put some EVA interlocking pads under it, as that will actually dampen quite a bit of noise and vibration.

Great for my Roland kit - which has the footprint of a rack mounted 7 piece double bass kit. Wish I had one of these decades ago - would have been great for gigs to prevent bass drum creep/sliding on concrete/wood/etc. Back in the day we would use actual carpet for rehearsal space but it was not going to a gig with us, just too bulky - and the price for these is pretty good with a nice look and finish. Rolls right up and has a Velcro strap. I'm not sure about durability yet but I wish it was a little heavier weight. It was a fight to get my DW5000 pedals in place due to the Velcro on the pedal's bottom - lol. The material was kind of light for that job - when I placed the pedals and fought with the Velcro, carpet and pedal location, the carpet would bunch and shift easily causing me to have to pull and tug the carpet to get everything back in place, over, and over. If you are looking for a rug that aggressively sticks to Velcro - this is it - actually kind of a plus in a way. Maybe I'm a bit OCD about pedal placement but if the carpet was a bit heaver weight it would be improved for my use case - 5/5 stars.

I searched for awhile to find the right drum mat for my new electric kit and was surprised how many advertised good velcro adhesion but had reviews that begged to differ. This rug, by Aucuda, is just perfect. It's the perfect size for my Alesis kit, looks nice, and, most importantly, adheres to the hi-hat and bass pedals velcro perfectly. It also has a nice handle that I use when I need to slide the kit around my garage (without disconnecting any of the drums!). Highly recommend!
