2nd LEGO set ever for me, I’m 33 years old. I buy these not to play with, but display. Yes, this isn’t the sturdiest of sets, but it looks amazing. I brought it out to my 70 year old parents to look at and they were amazed, which is cool since they loved Star Wars growing up. It’s challenging during some parts, but it was fun and rewarding. Once it’s fully displayed on the stand, it’s massive and majestic. There’s a reason it’s an 18+ set, 18+ year olds aren’t meant to play with toys. Also, my wings don’t sag, I don’t have issues with side panels staying put, and I love it on display. Looks great next to my ornithopter!

Its a fun build but frustrating as it's fragile

The printed instructions are a victim of copy/paste. After page 270, it goes back to 239. Would seem the pieces are missing, it is because the pasted is the wrong wing. However, the digital version is correct and I was able to finish the model. Also, in Bag five there are four pieces missing, but I have enough "left over" pieces from other models I was able to substitute. If this is your first Lego Star Wars model, you will need to order the four replacements, it is easy and free on lego.build/missing website.

Good price and a nice build that was fun

This is a must have for Star Wars fans. Nice size and detail. No missing parts. Good instruction manual. Pricy as are all Lego’s these days. I did have to use super glue on a couple of places to keep the sub assembly from coming apart as I attached it to the main fuselage. I recommend this build.

The build quality on this was very good. For an Ultimate Collector Edition I found it lacking in detail for the cockpit. There are very few details and control surfaces. The set was missing a few pieces as well. The model's connections are pretty decent so it won't crumble in your hands, and there are few pieces that can pop off from an errant graze of the hand. The stand is sturdy and the wings are built very nicely. It has no trouble expanding and collapsing. The value is decent. It is probably the best x wing model available. It makes for an excellent display piece.

This was one of my favorite builds!

I’m a 58 year old woman who obsesses over Star Wars Legos. I have built a large number of sets. This is by far the worst set I’ve ever tried to build! Every time I put a piece on, two others fall off. Not only is this set a nightmare for me, but the cockpit top wasn’t in the box. For your own sanity, don’t buy this set.
