Perfect fitment for my aging GE washer
Old split ring was rust welded to the hub. Used a deep socket and impact driver to get the hub nut off. Washer works like new now after replacing several other parts like the tub seal, hub drum, solenoid valve, pressure switch, drive belt and timer switch.

OEM Replacement
Was part of list for additional parts ordered to replace the Shaft and Shifter Tube Assembly on a GE washer. The original Bearing washer which is just like this one did not need replacing, but replace with new, so ordered all parts just in case if were to be needed.The entire tube washer needs to be removed just like in videos you can find on YouTube, so best to be prepared. Most additional parts were minimal in cost.This part was used to replace the original split ring in the tub. The original was in very good condition, but since have the washer tub apart, chose to replace with new split washer for peace of mind.

Genuine GE Part At Excellent Price
I bought this split ring as a replacement part when replacing the mode shifter assembly on my 7-year-old GE profile washing machine. The part was a genuine GE replacement part in the original GE packaging. The cost was substantially lower than my local appliance parts store.The mode shifter is an expensive part that requires nearly complete washer disassembly to replace. To avoid having to stop work in search of parts during the repair, I bought replacements for all hardware along the drive train that might be worn out or corroded (tub nut, split ring, tub seal, belt). On my washer the split ring had definitely seen better days. This replacement part dropped right in and saved me the trouble of having to clean up an old corroded part.I was skeptical that I could buy appliance parts on Amazon, but this turned out to be a great experience. I got everything I needed to fix my washer, and saved at least $300 on my repair. Thank you Amazon.

how not to remove the split ring
The split ring provides a surface for the inner tub to sit. It is made out of monkey metal , which is a rather brittle material. If a screw driver is used to expand it to break the crud for removal, it could break very easily as mine did. I recommend you not try to expand the ring for removal, only work it until it comes off. It was never a tight fit to start with, only seized in place by detergent and water.
