Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul on Tough Stuff: Stories of Tough Times and Lessons Learned Review: A text teens connect with. - Reflective writing in the classroom and outside of it is often a hard habit/skill to cultivate, but literary examples take the edge off the intimidating prospect of journaling. Every year I assign journals as warmups. Each warmup is either a specific prompt or a student choice prompt. Reading a short and sweet reflective story/journal from this book helps students gain confidence in their readers voice, feel less intimated to write through example, and can connect meaningfully through stories about teens on teen issues. Even if you aren’t an educator, this book should be on your teens desk as home. It’s an almanac for difficult moments and what to do or not do. Review: Perfect for daughter - Bought for my preteen daughter just as a another tool in these crazy times she is in. I read these books when I was her age and they were great then!

So far, its storytelling and writing exquisitely brings you into a world of the truth.
As far as I’ve read, this is an amazing book. The vivid and interesting storytelling truly brings the picture to life and shows you the real vision of the world. This book can come as a reality-check or maybe a comfort-reliable book to go through during grief to relate to others and feel connected to the world. This is such a great book/series! I cannot wait to finish this and maybe get another. I also LOVE how they added a reader’s guidelines notice in order to ensure that the stories are reaching a right audience. What a thrilling ride!

Nostalgic
I remember these from when I was a teen and knew I had to have one for my oldest. I was so excited it seems just like when I was a kid. Can’t wait for her to read it and journal.

A way to relate to teens over difficult topics
Creative Interventions for Bereaved Children More Creative Interventions for Troubled Children and Youth I am always trying to find new ways to relate to the teens I treat in therapy. The nature of this book, with its short stories and voices of real teens, is one way that I have found to reach out to teens about difficult topics. In particular, the section on death and dying has afforded me countless opportunities to assign "homework" to my clients where they read another teens' thoughts on their own loss. Similarly, the sections on family matters and abuse have been useful for me as way to open up discussions. These stories are easy to read and my clients have shared that they laugh, cry, and get a new perspective on tough topics when I assign them.

Inspiration
I gave this to my daughter as something to help her with teenage situations that she thought no one understood and it has helped her and inspired her to deal with things differently but also reminds her that she is human and feelings are okay to have but it's how we deal with out feelings and react that is important. Love CHICKEN SOUP BOOKS

Loved
My 14 year old said she wouldn't like it because it's all these short stories but at the end she loved it. Carried it everywhere she went.
