This vacuum does work please read !
Read this if your Intex pool has turned green and you’re not sure what to do.I have an Intex above-ground pool that went green, and I quickly realized the standard Intex filter wasn’t going to cut it. So, the first thing I did was upgrade to a sand pump and filter. That helped, but not enough—the green was too far gone for the pump alone. At that point, I had two options: vacuum the green out or drain the pool. Draining felt pointless because the problem could just come back, so I decided to vacuum it out as cheaply as possible.I found a vacuum for $50. I figured there would be a bit of trial and error to get it working—and there was. If you want something plug-and-play, this might not be for you. The main issue I faced was that the return port on the pool seemed to be an odd size. I bought a 1.25” to 1.5” hose adapter, but it was about 2mm too big. Then I tried an Intex connector from a pool shop—it was slightly too small and too short to clamp properly. So I improvised. I cut down the original connector with snips, allowing it to compress slightly and fit better. I stuffed it into the intake port, and to my surprise—it worked. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure there’s a proper connector out there, but this DIY fix got the job done. Before vacuuming, make sure to leave your pool still overnight so all the algae settles to the bottom. When you’re ready, fully submerge your vacuum hose so it’s filled with water—this is crucial to avoid losing suction. Then, connect it to your DIY or proper adapter, attach the vacuum head, and fire up the pump.I vacuumed about 85% of the algae on the first go—just moved slowly and carefully. It took about 15 minutes. I repeated the process the next morning, and the pool is now clear.Total cost?• Vacuum: $50• Connector: $13• A bit of patience and effort: freeAnd that’s it. It works—I promise! Be patient, and save yourself a bunch of money

Works great
Works great for our above ground pool. You do have to vacuum kind of slow but it does have a good suction. Would definitely recommend for above ground pools.

Works well
Works well once I got it hooked up. I had a lot of trouble getting it to slide over the adapter that connects it to my pump hoses. I guess that is a good thing and is needed to create a good tight fit and seal.

1 star – Avoid this hose if you value your time and sanity
This thing is a nightmare. It’s not just coiled…it’s like magnetic. You can unroll it, stretch it out, try to weigh it down, and somehow it still snaps back into a tangled mess like it’s alive. Doesn’t stay submerged, doesn’t unkink, and actually made vacuuming impossible and you’re doing something wrong. I’ve used this hose from Lowe’s and it is lightweight and flexible. This was actually free because I wanted to return it after reading reviews but tried it since it was free. It was a complete waste of time and blood pressure lol
