Don't mind the mess I made with the milk frother on my mug here (things great for mixing cocoa but that doesn't make up for how dumb I am for how tall the liquid was haha!)The cocoa packets tear well unlike some other ones we won't name here and their easy to divide up or tear two if you are going for an actual mug size and not a tea cup.My biggest issue was finding a mug small enough that the recommended 6oz doesn't look half empty already. Lets face it, 6oz is 3/4 a cup. Just not that much for even the smallest mug so it would be easy for anyone to have a bad liquid to cocoa mix ratio. Having that problem out of the way its Ghirardelli cocoa, creamy and pretty dang good. Even still I'm pretty sure I was a cup of milk on this one meaning I was still 33% over liquid so it probably would have had an even stronger taste which may have been a bit too sweet for my taste buds. Over all its good, I think we all know that getting into double chocolate Ghirardelli, its sweet, creamy and pretty smooth without being overly sweet which is what I love most about theirs over others. 48 packs of the stuff will tide me over a short bit through the winter season.

We received 40 which is disappointing. Far more concerning is that these are not for resale and have no expiration date. There is no way to know how old they are. They also smell strongly of chemical cleaner and maybe air freshener? It’s really not appetizing and makes me wonder how much got through the packaging. They have been tossed into a box so they are pretty banged up and a lot of them have cuts in the top of the packaging, I’m guessing they were not careful when opening their original boxes with a knife. Some packages are cut into enough to have some spilling out. All around disappointing and dangerous from a food safety standpoint. I certainly would not trust any food items from By the Cup in the future.

Nice warm milk before going to bed is not what anyone needs... a cup of delicious hot tasty CHOCOLATE is what does the trick! I have a milk frothier and have used that to give my chocolate a creamy frothy foamy delicious mustache satisfying drink.Can you tell I really like this? Yeah. Reminds me of my grandma's hot chocolate that she used to make from scratch. The smell just reminds me of happier times.Oh... search Amazon for mini marshmallows. Get the huge two gallon container. Never worry about too litlle amount of marshmallows in your chocolate.I'm off to the kitchen... just got a thirst!

Ghirardelli is certainly up there as one of my favorite mass-consumer chocolates easily available here in the US. During the holidays, we always have fun buying the different flavored bags of squares and divvying them up into collections for coffee cups and mini stockings for giveaways to friends and coworkers.I'm happy to report that their hot cocoa mix is the same and getting this case of it for the price offered here feels like a steal.The little cocoa scoop it comes with is a nice cute add-in but unnecessary since each packet is already a single serving.I noticed another reviewer expressed disappointment that you needed milk instead of just hot water to make this and that's because this isn't really meant to be an instant hot chocolate like that. It doesn't have dried marshmellows in it either though they suggest serving it with marshmallow and fresh cream for a fuller, rich experience.At the end of the day, that's what this is supposed to be: a full rich experience - not something you store in your emergency preparedness kit or find sitting next to the coffee at work.If you want the good stuff, this is it. If you want what we normally think of as instant, you'll probably be unhappy with this.

There were only 42 packets in the box. Not 48 as in the description. Had I known I would have chosen a different product

Tasty. Some of the packages got a little beat up in the box but I"m still happy with the mix!
